Reading up a little about Challinor's teams and they seem to be very well coached. He could be exactly what we need.
Could be hard to get him here though.

Oh god! It’s going to be Gerrard.

Re: New Manager recruitment process in place
It's really not looking good and all looking so predictable. Review period , short list , they'd like someone with football knowledge on board (but not happening). Hiring outside help to help Dalman and Chesterfield (wasn't he at Barry Town not long ago) and then Tan has to approve.
Hopefully someone in by the end of the month.
What could possibly go wrong?
May as well employ Purse now than wait until November.🤣🤣🤣

Yep, in depth interview process and then we hire the assistant. We have seen this before.

My first thought, the agency have Gerrard as a client and now they bringing in this guy whose worked with Gerrard at Rangers and Saudi.
I really hope it’s not tho. Would be a typical city appointment, paying for a future for the wrong person then going cheap with their replacement.

Re: New Manager recruitment process in place
A month to come up with an appointment.
A month!
Well-run clubs have a contingency plan in place long before a managerial change happens.
What a shocking way to run a multi-million pound business.

It'll be approx a month since our last game against Norwich and over a month since we were relegated.

Re: New Manager recruitment process in place
Glad to see Gav Chesterfield involved, he knows his football
I know someone who worked with Mark at Rangers ( he is a academy coach ) and he messaged me earlier to say " he won't steer you wrong " ( then explained he worked with him etc etc )

Re: New Manager recruitment process in place
I seriously doubt there's a manager out there who could get promoted with this current squad. If they continue with the same player recruitment process/personnel in place it won't make any difference..

Re: New Manager recruitment process in place
So Dalman and Choo haven't been fired from their roles yet?
Facking he'll nothing will change with these dip sticks.

A month to get an important hire right isn't a long time at all, outside of football.
And football clubs at this level aren't really big business, a typical championship club has less turnover than a medum sized Tescos.

Re: New Manager recruitment process in place
Sounds like we’re going for a pretty complicated recruitment process for a manager, paying lots of advisors to then just crack on as normal
Probably reading too much into the line near the bottom talking about Tan "He has injected a substantial amount of funds in the club. In his statement, it was clear to me he wants to bounce back. On the other hand, he has always said 'Everything is for sale at the right price - except for family.'
Felt a bit like putting it out there that Tan will sell if he has the opportunity. I also thought it was interesting that he needs to refer to his statement rather than what Tan has personally told him. Almost like they’re not actually speaking

Re: New Manager recruitment process in place
Very disappointing. There's no actual structure being put in place, more of Choo and Dalman's antics to follow. Another missed opportunity and more proof if any was needed, these clowns won't change.

We paid Wasserman last time, we got Omer Riza

They could have provided an excellent list for all we know?

Re: New Manager recruitment process in place
I asked my latest go-to source and it replied ' Lee Carsley or a similarly experienced English lower-league manager would be the best fit considering availability and league compatibility.'

I think the quote says "within this month" not in a month so within three weeks

Not sure of the relevance of either of these points? This is a million pound business we're talking about, not a rota swap to cover the cheese counter. Taking a month to make a crucial hire without a plan isn’t normal—it’s negligent.
If you’re running a football club and don’t have a plan for the most pivotal role when things go south, you’re not doing your job properly.

We all know our football.
What are Chesterfields credentials at this level?
