It is quite feasible that they really are meant to be a kind of deliberate p1ss-take. Not necessarily toward N. Korea, nor China etc but possibly to create further division and confusion on 'home turf' between his followers who like this kind of approach, and his detractors who do not.
There are theories as to why that divisiveness might be considered useful to Team Trump, but I'm not sure that it is quite panning out as they expect so far.

Unsure if it has been said on here but in an interview Trump said they sent 59 missiles to Iraq to send a message...
How much of an influence will trump have over the armed forces? I doubt that much. I always imagined the military being quite ring fenced. Is that correct?.
It is not like Trump will being sitting around a world map drawing up plans. He may just ok just of the more stupid ideas given to him.
He has been in charge for 3 months now, learning on the job. He probably had no idea where idlib or wherever was prior to his win.
So it gives me the idea there is a underlying set of instructions that would have been carried out regardless of who was in power. Different faces, same plan.
Am I being paranoid?. Maybe. Or maybe Trump sat down with some murky characters post election win and they said, "Look, this is how it is going to go in regard our foreign policy".
Did George Bush draw up the idea to invade Iraq?. No chance. There are some advisers somewhere calling all the shots. Their advisory roles cemented even when power is passed from one person to another in the main job.
I could well be babbling a load of rubbish here.

Re: The Donald Trump thread
It doesn't mention in the article below but there's much speculation that Korea might test a nuke on April 25th.
Japanese destroyers join US strike group amid tensions on Korean Peninsula
Published time: 21 Apr, 2017 14:52
Two Japanese Navy destroyers have joined the carrier strike group ‘USS Carl Vinson’ heading towards the Korean Peninsula for a massive show of force as North Korea prepares to mark the 85th anniversary of the foundation of its military.
The Japanese warships, destroyers ‘Ashigara’ and ‘Samidare’, left the navy’s Sasebo base early on Friday for a rendezvous with the ‘USS Carl Vinson’ group off North Korean shores, NHK reports.
Defense Ministry officials said the details of the joint US-Japan naval exercise are yet to be determined. The drill comes as an apparent show of force aimed at deterring North Korea, which will mark the 85th anniversary of the foundation of its military next week.
Though little is known about the naval exercise, the event was announced by the Japanese Navy earlier last week.
“Japan wants to dispatch several destroyers as the ‘Carl Vinson’ enters the East China Sea,” said one of the Japanese military sources, as cited by Reuters.
The source added that the drills would involve helicopter landings on both American and Japanese ships as well as communications training.
The American strike group includes Nimitz-class aircraft carrier ‘USS Carl Vinson’ with her air wing, Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyers ‘USS Wayne E. Meyer’ and ‘USS Michael Murphy’, as well as Ticonderoga-class guided-missile cruiser ‘USS Lake Champlain’.

Re: The Donald Trump thread
In the past week or so Trump has stated China is not a currency manipulator. Before he was elected he said they did manipulate the yuan's value. Again before he was elected he expressed his "love" for Wikileaks, now they are a sinister tool of, you've guessed it, Russia. He's now "okay" with charging Assange. Everything Wikileaks has published has been true.

Trump making it up as he goes along. Backtracking on everything he said. I liked Trump when he first came along, I got taken in by him. Now he's just turning into another Obama. A fuking coward with no backbone

There's a big safety exercise or drill in the US capital today: https://www.mwcog.org/newsroom/2017/...ency-managers/
And Trump has invited all 100 members of the Senate to the Whitehouse to discuss the North Korea situation today too. http://www.reuters.com/article/us-no...-idUSKBN17Q1LR
Both 9-11 and London 7-7 bombings occurred on drill days.

Re: The Donald Trump thread
You missed me visiting a Spar shop to add a jar of peanut butter to my doomsday grub stock. Wales-Bales had better steady himself before reading this next bit.
Donald has admitted he's a globalist: Mr. Trump dismissed talk about a split inside his White House between aides with a nationalist or globalist orientation. "Hey, I'm a nationalist and a globalist," he said. "I'm both. And I'm the only one who makes the decision, believe me."

Mr T has let many down a stinker IMO.
Swamp is still un-drained.
Pizza still available.
Hilary still at large.
Planet in melt-down.
Too big a job for one man and his very un-merry band perhaps. The shit is deeper than the shovel?

At least he didn't sell any classified intelligence, now that would be something if they caught somebody doing just that!

Blimey, must be the quickest we've gone from Stage 1 (fake news) to Stage 2 (at least it's not as bad as something the Democrats did).
This story is developing quickly...

When they were talkining about the general threats to aviation, Trump mentioned the thing about the laptops on planes which has been in the news for weeks. In fact, some airlines have already banned them, so I'm not sure how it's supposed to be secret information :sherlock:
The most interesting part of the story is which news outlets actually went gung-ho with their news reporting

If you're right then surely the most interesting part of the story is the massive overreaction by the White House to a chip paper story.

You know how the media works, you've got to nip it in the bud. It won't stop them going on and on about it though. It seems like a diversion tactic to me, maybe there are bigger things in in the pipeline? Henry Kissinger recently made an unannounced visit to the Whitehouse, and rumour has it Jess Sessions (AG) has got all of Comey's office files in his possesion, hence the reason why he was fired while away in LA.

Well it all seems pretty quiet at the moment if you ignore this storm in a teacup, so my guess is something is brewing (and it's not more tea).
