Page has a few players playing in unfamiliar positions and needs to sort it out

Dan James has more or less been right back since Roberts went off.

Re: WALES v POLAND. Match thread

I was thinking that

Re: WALES v POLAND. Match thread
With all the players barely hanging on the one move he makes is bringing off a player who has only been on the field 30 mins?

That was an ideal situation to go four at the back

Brooks was breathless

Re: WALES v POLAND. Match thread
Under the cosh. Can only see one outcome and that’s not a positive one.

Yeah. Ideally would have gone off but he will be a pen taker.

Re: WALES v POLAND. Match thread
Every change Page has made has made us worse

Re: WALES v POLAND. Match thread
Seemed a bit harsh to send him off with seconds to go.

Re: WALES v POLAND. Match thread
Omens not good. Szczesny is one of the better penalty savers in Europe. I’d rather we swap Ward for Hennessy for penalties.
Louis Van Gaal did this several times as a coach. I wonder if Page will, or will he be too loyal to Ward?

Re: WALES v POLAND. Match thread
We just cant be on the wrong end of a penalty knocking us out again. Surely this time we will benefit from the spot.

I have faith in Ward to save 1 or 2

I hope you’re right. Poland’s better keeper and more experienced players, calmer heads, tells me Poland will win.
Of course I’ll be delighted if I am wrong.

Re: WALES v POLAND. Match thread

Lewandowski’s pen should be retaken. Not
one clean movement

Re: WALES v POLAND. Match thread
Ward doesn’t have the big reach of Hennessy
-
Re: WALES v POLAND. Match thread
Ward hasn’t got near them.
-
Re: WALES v POLAND. Match thread
As soon as James stepped up, knew it.
-
Re: WALES v POLAND. Match thread
disappointing but they played well and Lewandoski is a kent

Re: WALES v POLAND. Match thread
Balls. Page's team selection and subs cost us
-
Re: WALES v POLAND. Match thread
He didn’t look confident, but he had the bottle to take one, don’t knock him.
-
Re: WALES v POLAND. Match thread
Back to near misses again then
-
Re: WALES v POLAND. Match thread
What was the point of having Rambo on the bench? 120 minutes plus pens and he doesn't get a look in. I'd rather have had Colwill available.

No not knocking him, fair play he took the last one. He just didn’t look confident at all.
-
Re: WALES v POLAND. Match thread
Ah thats a shame, ultimately Ward didn't get close to saving any of the penalties

True, anyone can miss a penalty, even the best players in the world. C'est la vie.

Exactly - harsh to knock a penalty taker in those circumstances especially when it is the last one of our 5
-
Re: WALES v POLAND. Match thread
I didn't watch the pens as I just knew. So ****ed off
-
Re: WALES v POLAND. Match thread
Just bad luck and anyone criticising Dan James can piss off
He stepped up and tried.

Absolutely - no sense at all - like taking cheerleaders to the world cup FFS cos they are good in the changing room

Yep. Why take your best player off in the second half? Why?
