And of course BB and The Sopranos are better than Ozark...pointless comparison to make imo. It's like comparing Cardiff and Reading.
:hehe: I suppose you are right, I quite like Ozark though, there are no much that can compare to the other two, this comes closer than most.

It goes without saying and I’m sure you will agree. Better Call Saul. I suspect the o/p has seen it though.
:hehe: I felt the same way. I can't really explain just how much better season 3 is, but you'll just have to trust me.
The cartel are more involved in the latest series so it ups the stakes dramatically and it just makes for a much more interesting storyline and potential consequences. They also introduce a new character that changes the Byrd family dynamic and it works really well.
I guarantee you'll like at least 2 people in season 3 and want them to live :hehe:
As for Better Call Saul... It actually gets better with each season, somehow. I'd say it's as good as BB.

BCS is fabulous and as good as BB. Really looking forward to the finale next year.

Re: Decent TV series binge watch?
Has anyone watched End of the f***ing World? Thought it was great. Two young Brit actors. Both funny and a terrific soundtrack. Dark humour. Well worth a watch.

Curb Your Enthusiasm is a very special series think its all being re - run now on Sky Comedy.
Count Arthur Strong both TV and Radio versions.
Detectorists was simply brilliant .

How many series of BCS have you watched? His brother isn’t in after series 3. Thereafter it just gets better and better. Series 4 and 5 are as good as anything I have watched on tv. On the same level as BB.

I like dark, anyone seen a series called “quarry”, nothing to rave about but was a decent watch.....

Maybe 3 was the last one I’ve seen....mike was such a good character it’s worth it for watching him alone

I know a number of people who gave up during s3. I persuaded them to go back and watch it. Each time they have come back and agreed it’s superb. S4 and S5 are brilliant and a step up from the previous series especially as more and more BB characters join the cast.
Agree on Mike. A great character in both BB and BCS.

Re: Decent TV series binge watch?
Like it that many on here aren’t falling for the description ‘season’ and are referring to them as ‘series’, as far as I’m concerned there are only four seasons.

American TV shows (programmes to you, Steve :hehe:) are described as follows: the entirety of the programming is called a 'series'. Each individual run of episodes is called a 'season'.
In the UK, both of those descriptions are called a 'series'.
The language I use is dictated by the origin of the show/programme.
You're welcome

Yep. I’m not American and can cope with still referring to a series rather than a season.

Re: Decent TV series binge watch?
Some great suggestions.
I recently watched Dead to me... Really enjoyed it.
Christina Applegate is just outstanding with razor sharp wit and put downs. Great premise. Season 2 was also very very good.
-
Re: Decent TV series binge watch?
Any updates, from Prime, Apple TV or Netflix?

Never heard of it, but I've got a colour TV.

Re: Decent TV series binge watch?
Stay Close and the Stranger on Netflix
British made dramas, not everyone’s cup of tea, but me and the Mrs enjoyed them
-
Re: Decent TV series binge watch?
On Apple TV:
I've been watching Foundation (based on stories by Isaac Asimov), Hijack (Passes the time), Silo (Enjoyed, touches of 1984 but set in a tube) and The Crowded Room (my favourite even if I did work the twist out in the beginning).
A mention also for Slow Horses and Severance.

Just watched Hijack, yes it's OK.
Watching Gangs of London now, not too bad.
I saw slow horses quite good, severance gave up boring.
Ta for the other I'll have a look
Bad Sisters was good, and Ted Lasso of course.

I enjoyed Slow Horses.
Gary Oldman’s character is great.

Yes Slow Horses is very good.
I am way behind on my series though.
I am currently over half way through The Sopranos but I have taken a break to save the rest to give me something to look forward to.
Currently watching The Blacklist which is excellent.
I started watching Yellowstone but couldn't get into it. May try again.
Watched about half of Succession and really must watch the rest sometime.

Re: Decent TV series binge watch?
On episode 9 of the first series of The Americans.
“At the height of the Cold War, two Russian agents pose as the average American couple, complete with family.”
Highly recommended!
-
Re: Decent TV series binge watch?
I'm watching World on Fire on the BBC i player at the moment. I like anything to do with the second World War.
-
Re: Decent TV series binge watch?
Just watched Hijacked on Apple, not an Idris fan and it had its flaws but it wasn’t decent. I think it’s a 7 hour flight and 7 hour episodes so it’s in time.
-
Re: Decent TV series binge watch?
An easy watch on BBCiPlayer “Colin from Accounts”. NB it’s not about working in an office.
-
Re: Decent TV series binge watch?
We're enjoying Murders in thr Building on Disney+ at the most. A nice light hearted murder mystery if there is such a thing.
-
Re: Decent TV series binge watch?
My favourite series ever is “the following” I think it’s on prime. Never watched a series so much where just couldn’t wait for the next.
-
Re: Decent TV series binge watch?
Would recommend the following
Gomorrah
White Lotus
Babylon Berlin
Das Boot

White Lotus series 1 I thought was brilliant, series 2 lacked a bit. I hear they are making a 3rd tho.

Re: Decent TV series binge watch?
Just completed "Derry Girls" with my daughters (both in Uni) absolute class
-
Re: Decent TV series binge watch?
The power of Parker is funny
The virtues with the Scouse actor who name I forgot
There was recently a really good 80s comedy drama on sky which was excellent
