give over. whether you like it or not VT is now part of our history and personally I'd say lets keep the oriental dragon as a reminder of what can happen.Quote:

The fact is that Cardiff City are in such a mess on and off the field that anything the club churn out now is going to be fine as it's less shit than you thought it was going to be.
The sixth form project of a justification is laughable. I'm reading other threads asking if the club "has a plan", it's been evident for several years now that the club is in an endless state of crisis mismanagement, lurching from one shambles to the next.
As others have said in the thread, the badge suits the club. Cobbled together, amateurish and cheap.
I also very much like how they've used the typeface from outside Ninian Park
Would you be saying that if the badge was the same but without the dragon?Quote:

Yeah its fine. the main shield saying Cardiff City FC and prominent bluebird is all we wanted really. That dragon does look bloody stupid however a bit of tipex will soon take care of that.
Reminds me of something from the MLS but there are quite a few teams upgraded their logos over here to more simpler variants.
Will do for now. not about to get it tattoed but hey, we're back in blue and have a reasonable enough badge. lets get on with it now.
Maybe, as others have pointed out, it is just the relief to get away from the mess of the current badge but I actually like that badge.
Why do I like it? Well, the dragon is inoffensive and the badge finally puts the Bluebird back to its rightful place at the focal point. It'll do and I can see me buying my first ever official blue shirt with that on it to try and help with the income the club will need to replace the missing ex-fans and fairweathers next year.
Yes.Quote:

Even without the dragon, it is a little bit predictable. Shield. Bluebird. Ribbon. Saying that, there aren't many great badges out there - but I think the old Cardiff badge was fine and they could have replaced the Welsh dragon with Tan's dragon and rolled with that. How can it be anything other than cobbled together, considering the obvious parameters that Barrie (sorry the "designer") was working with?Quote:

I wonder if you just say things without thinking, an automatic reaction to just lash out.Quote:

Maybe, but he's not saying "it's a little bit predictable", he's saying it's "Cobbled together, amateurish and cheap" which seems to me like he's just spouting hyperbole for the sake of it.Quote:

That's very good and actually if you removed the crest outline would then represent my ideal badge. However, the one we're about to get is fine for next yearQuote:

Captain Bitter. TLG's crap slowly becoming more tiring that Tan's.Quote:

In fairness, I would have no problems buying that shirt for my young boy - except for the fact that the money goes to Tan's folly.Quote:

I agree but TVB is saying that if they presented that badge without the dragon he would still call it "Cobbled together, amateurish and cheap"Quote:

They can gloat when we do go under, which is likely now, but even then I'll struggle to see what they're gloating about.Quote:

I am continually amazed at the never-ending stream of coherent and well-reasoned bile you are able to produce. What a waste of a talent, you should be a journalist or something really.Quote:

Coca-Cola were indeed involved in a major rebranding disaster. New Coke never caught on with its customers and the company got a bloody nose.Quote:

Even less effort would have been needed if they just took the old crest with the daff and dragon next to each other and swapped the welsh red dragon for a oriental one.Quote:

It's like a red ragworm to a bull with you, TLGQuote:

Do you know what the word integral means? If so, would you say that this particular dragon has been integral to the Welsh capital for over a hundred years?Quote:

This thread does show the rebrand has affected some people so much they can't ever look at anything objectively again.
It's a shame what the rebrand done, I understand why people would be turned off the club but to be so filled with bile you laugh at the club and its supporters at every opportunity is beyond the pale imo.
That's a shockers.
I would have thought exactly the same three years ago before the rebrand too.Quote:
