Really should have won that

Re: READING v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
Reading basically threw that match with their team selection and we still couldn't get the job done.
-
Re: READING v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
Why can't we score! Sounds like a hatful of near misses.

Re: READING v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
1-1 it is then. Only saw the last 15 mins. Reading looked awful.

we were the better team all game. created the bigger chances, sol missed an absolute sitter

Re: READING v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
How many corners did we have today where we failed to clear the first man on the near post? I’d have Murphy and Hoilett stay behind after training this week. .... or stick our own man on the near post to head it on if they’re not capable.

To be fair it was their 2nds. Think they made 11 changes

Re: READING v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
Murphy was terrible, looks half-hearted in everything he does. Harris looked happy at the end though, big smile on his face as he shook the hands of the Reading staff.

It was relatively easy for us - just pump balls into their penalty area and hope. I can't see what more Harris can do with this current squad - there just isn't any pace, skill, guile.

Re: READING v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
This means we'll be playing Reading three times in ten days.

Yep and it will be a completely different team for the League game for us. I can understand why Bowen played the reserve team although I wanted it to be a mix of first team starters and reserves. However the bench was ridiculous and made up entirely of Academy players. There is no reason why first teasers couldn’t have been on the bench.

That drives me absolutely mad. How hard can it be?
And surely it isn’t a tactic to aim for the near post with the giants that we have in the box? 🤷*♂️

Re: READING v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
usual no flair drama then...
when flint and bamba are going for the goals something has to be wrong... (not gonna mention bamba miss again)

Re: FT: READING 1 - 1 CARDIFF CITY. Match thread

There’s a camera view along the line of Meite that should confirm if it was offside or not. They showed it on the big screen.

Yaks was very emotional when he scored. His dad passed away last week.

When I played youth football (To a very basic standard even) I was coached to aim for the penalty spot. Far enough away from the keeper but close enough for someone to easily head it in off the momentum of The cross, It’s not rocket science! To be fair Vokes managed to clear he first man with the corners he was taking although we could do with getting some players closer to him for those long throws. Let’s have some options. The commentator even knew we were inevitably aiming for Flint who would have 2 men marking him. It just seems so basic!

He’s a lovely lad. Not the most skilful but he gives 100%. He’s only young so his dad can’t have been that old.

That's an understatement he was fecking awful. We were sat in home area of the ground (keeping quiet) and Murphy's body language said it all. Wandering around lost, no effort and his crossing was woeful. Ran the ball out on one occasion and glad when he went off 'cos Hoilett changed the whole tempo. Impressed with Whyte and Vaulks and Patterson put in a shift. Glatzel pretty tame and Bamba had a mare.

Murphy put some good balls in, but once our lot don't like you I suppose that's it really.
Agree the players you named looked good as well, also thought Glatzel looked better when the ball was played on the floor and he could play one twos.

Who crossed the ball for our first goal? No good continually knocking our most talented player, he’s a confidence player and we need to support our whole team!

Yeah but he ran the ball out ONCE.
