Trying is surely the very minimum we should expect.
It is such boring football.
Nothing happens. We pass the ball around a bit but without achieving anything.
Yawn.

Re: NOTTINGHAM FOREST v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
There seems to be some sort of urgency today that is lacking usually. Maybe the early goal ensured this.
-
Re: NOTTINGHAM FOREST v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
Why does he persist with Ralls as a 10? Surely you stick Wilson there before Ralls?

Positives:
- Phillips, Bagan, Murphy getting game time
Negatives:
- several more

I suppose if you expect Ralls to cover the wings it won’t work

Re: NOTTINGHAM FOREST v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
Could we be anymore predictable in selection and play.
I think it shocked no one we lost the first goal then we wake up a bit, seems to be all the time. Negative mentality.

Re: NOTTINGHAM FOREST v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
Phillips' distribution seems decent

Re: NOTTINGHAM FOREST v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
Oh, for an out and out striker....and Arter’s still a dirty twat.

Yup, love it.

Glatzel really is poor, no get up and go, a dream to mark for a centre half. I hope he makes me eat my words but.........

“Cardiff get their cross in but nobody really there to attack it”

Even when he closes down he never looks like he believes that he'll win the ball or score a goal
-
Re: NOTTINGHAM FOREST v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
First shot on target 62mins from about 35 yards out that was comfortable for the keeper

Not sure what you do with him. He's not strong enough to play with his back to goal, he can't run the channels as he's slow and he's not good enough to link play. Regardless of the style of play, he's just not up to it.
-
Re: NOTTINGHAM FOREST v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
Forest's first attack of the half and it just reminded me that Bacuna really isn't a right back, AWOL yet again

Yeah people are complaining Harris isn't getting the best out of him but I haven't seen anything that suggests there's more in there. Kieffer Moore's performances are proof that strikers can work in this system

Harris told us he was one of the best finishers he has ever seen though.

The thing is, he scored a couple of goals and everyone thinks that he is Pele.
Sadly he isn’t up to playing in the Championship much as it pains me to say it. :-(

Re: NOTTINGHAM FOREST v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
good finisher, but only a second striker in a 4-4-2 or a supersub

I don't know why I really like Glatzel but even I'm starting to come to the realisation that he's not good enough. Zohore scored for Millwall today too 🤣

Yep, you've got me. Neil Harris clearly wasn't exaggerating in order to try and boost the confidence of a player struggling to find form who is having to play because our first choice striker was injured.
Honestly, what are you expecting "yeah, Rob's shit but I've got to play him"?

I think that people like him as he always give it a go and he seems like a decent chap who we are all desperate to do well.
That doesn’t make him good enough though :-(
-
Re: NOTTINGHAM FOREST v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
It’s been virtual one way traffic towards the Forest goal this half, but, apart from a shot from a free kick by Wilson deflected 8nto the side netting by the wall, there’s been nothing to suggest City might score.

A bit of honestly, perspective, and realism without any David Brentisms is surely not too much to ask for?

He is a good finisher, though. That's not the issue.

Commentator just said “it’s all a bit ponderous from Cardiff “ .......

Yeah similar to the Eddie Johnson love in but not quite as intense haha. When Eddie eventually scored it was one of my fondest memories as a Cardiff fan.

So you want our manager to call the players shit in his press conferences?
If he had done you'd have been on here complaining he's a rubbish man manager who's lost the dressing room

It is because he isn’t.
He isn’t very good at anything (heading, holding the ball up etc). That is the issue sadly.
Cue: ‘blame Warnock for this and everything else including yet another performance so dull that it is difficult to stay awake’

Just read my post. The clues are in there.

What chances has he missed? That isn't the issue, it's his all round game.
Since you brought it up, did Glatzel play well for Warnock?
