Re: Next Manager odds from Skybet
Mark Hudson? ****ing spare me.
-
Re: Next Manager odds from Skybet
Its actually funny that people are suggesting Hudson will win a couple and get the job full time.
Beat Burnley and Blackburn. This side?? We just got done over by Huddersfield.
We will lose those 2 and they will probably give Darren Purse a go.

Probably. Bit annoyed as I bet on him at 10/1 last time around too.

Re: Next Manager odds from Skybet
I think its well odds on Hudson will be in temporary charge for the next game but im not sure how many games the bookies pay out on a temporary managerm. I think its 10.
I dont think Hudson will get the results needed and will get moved on.
Its just ridiculous we are in this position.
Until there is a change in ownership this will go on and on.
With our debts that could be many years away.
Such a badly run club.

Re: Next Manager odds from Skybet
Let’s be the first to go off the mark, let’s appoint a winner, Sarina Wiegman

Fully expect Warnock to be reappointed with Bamba no 2

Hopefully Bamba has burnt his bridges with his nonsense when he left.

Re: Next Manager odds from Skybet
Hudson or Bamba would be a disaster.
I can't see it happening, but I reckon Carlos Corberan could do well. Was part of Bielsa's set up when Leeds went up and almost took Huddersfield up last season without (I think) spending a lot. And he's free after being sacked by Olympiacos yesterday, which, admittedly, doesn't sound so great, but he's young and has a decent record in the championship.
-
Re: Next Manager odds from Skybet
The issue with approaching any manager with a decent reputation is that their first question will be ‘How much will I be given to spend in January?’ If the answer is zero, then we can rule out any manage with a decent reputation.

Re: Next Manager odds from Skybet
Has Hudson got the required coaching badges? I believe Ramasut has….not that I’m suggesting Ramasut as boss.

Because Trollope and Morison aren't very good at implementing a new style of play. Morison has had 44 games in charge. He's got the worst PPG since Trollope.
I want us to see us pass the ball around but we were doing it at the expense of trying to score. Morison's football was negative, we didn't commit men to attacks and the whole game plan was set up so we didn't get exposed on the break. That may have changed but we had game after game of the same thing happening, or not happening as it was.
I would go and get Corberan. At the end of the day, the bloke that was going to release Rubin Colwill should not be treated as a messiah. He was out of his depth, was making curious decisions and in time, many of his signings will be seen as duds. Steve Morison is not the only manager that plays passing football. We might even get someone who is more expansive.

Hudson obtained the UEFA A licence 4 years ago

Thought I’d had Huddy at 14/1, checked me account and didn’t press confirm. Bum
Hudson was rampantly clapping the away fans at the end on Saturday

What about Mark Bowen, has he gone back to Reading?

how about someone like Lukas Kwasniok?

I hope we appoint Duncan Ferguson. As long as when the inevitable sack comes Dalman has to do it face to face.

They don’t want to put their massive payoffs at risk. Who openly criticises their boss? No one

On that theme, I can't think of a manager anywhere who was sacked (often called left by mutual agreement) that had anything to say about their departure on the day or in the proceeding days following their removal. Not anything that was reported by media outlets anyway.
Why is that? Is it because when they accept the role their contract includes a non disclosure agreement for which if they break they can be sued, or automatically have their pay off reduced.
Morison is the latest to have seemingly taken a vow of silence.

Re: Next Manager odds from Skybet
We don't want Nathan Jones! I am unanimous in that!
He's from Rhondda and is probably half-cut most nights swigging Allbright bitter, often when oggy oggy oggying along to fecking Max Boyce CDs.

Agreed, he will get two or three games but is not the answer, I think they will try for Nathan Jones, would he take it?

Re: Next Manager odds from Skybet
Doesn't Jones play ( shall we say ) a more direct style of play ? ? ?
a. we dont really have the players for that
b. we dont want to see it again, we wanted silky 70's Brazil type play

I dont think they will offer it to him.
If they did I dont think he would take it. Its not a good squad to inherit and theres a high relegation risk.
If we did avoid the drop this season then next summer with a window and Id say he would come.

He does play a more direct style.
Another reason he wont come. We have a small soft touch of a side and a more direct style isnt an option unless we can bring in some free agents.

Yes thats the problem, I don't think any on the list play Swansalona style, could he adapt and play somewhere in the middle?
-
Re: Next Manager odds from Skybet
For the last time, the bookies don't have a clue. Mainly because the club probably don't. They have standard Championship manager templates and wheel them out.

I read somewhere Jones' Luton contract is until 2027. I doubt whether Vinnie, who's struggling to get by on a small Malaysian state pension, would relish getting hit with a large compo payment.
Hudson would probably be the cheapest option, just as Morison likely was.
-
Re: Next Manager odds from Skybet
Jody Morris and Veljko Paunovic both supposed to be interested.
What's your view on Paunovic Pearcey?

I also wonder whether it's a case of once bitten, twice shy with Jones, after his Stoke debacle and how he returned to Luton with his tail between his legs? I can't see him leaving there anytime soon.

Avoid. In truth he was dumped on last season having to deal with too much on his own with very little support. The club was a dysfunctional mess which was not down to him.
However his inability to learn from mistakes was shocking so we kept conceding the same way time and time again.
Definitely not the man for your club.

That's probably who it'll be then!

Pearcey, is Mark Bowen back with Reading?
