It's not for me Tony and I'll just ignore the day with plenty of other stuff to keep me occupied.
Whilst in Tesco this morning with Doris, she mentioned that if Diana were still alive, the occasion would be a much larger
celebration than it appears to be at the moment, Tesco had a lot of unsold memorabilia on display this morning.
It is a day in history and I hope your son has a great day. :wales:

You don't have to be religious or even like members of the Royal Family to enjoy things like this event but surely even someone like you can understand the ceremony and history around it gives enjoyment and comfort to many people.
You completely miss the point. It's nit just the Royal family, its the entire status quo which is failing the British public.
Luckily younger generations are seeing this charade for what it is.

This is the thing though - it's just not true. The same issues facing Britain are being faced everywhere in western Europe to more or less the same extent.
That's what bugs me. If republicanism offered a genuine solution to a real problem I'd be all ears (no pun intended) but it doesn't. It's a false prophet.

Mike, can we have a forelock tuggers emoji please?
For Royal Weddings and the Queen’s Funeral Ivegot into the habit of going out shopping at the times when the scenes that will feature at the start of news bulletins were happening. It’s always been deserted and I was expecting the same when I decided to take the dog out for a walk about an hour ago. This time, despite a steady drizzle, I was surprised by how many people were doing the same as me - it was busier than it normally is around lunchtime and it wasn’t all youngsters doing it either.

Ok give me a few billion quid.
Not for it? Why? It wouldn't cause any problems?

Whenever there's Party political broadcast on the TV - whichever party - I make a point of going outside and having a sh*t.

I'd managed to escape going shopping this morning but having logged onto FB to get some info for a gig tonight bloody Nigelblues has posted some pictures of the event  so haven't managed to totally avoid it. :hehe:

Notice how you never actually address the point...
Shouldn't you be in London licking the dirt Charles is walking on?
I complain about this government and the status quo as it has utterly failed my generation and those after mine. You can never actually address the issues, just deflect and deflect.
Luckily time is on my side.

To be fair to them, they like to leave a few clues they think is nonsense too. Lionel Richie is there, a pop/soul singer from the 80s. Hello!? That's a nod to the republicans. Also, some of them have a face like a slapped arse.

Not really. I'll probably cram a lot more living into my remaining 20 odd years..

It doesn't matter about you as an individual. Demographic changes say your way is the way of the dinosaur.
Tories, brexiters, royalists, climate change deniers, rugged individualists, enlightened centrists, science deniers etc are being outnumbered every day.

It hasn't utterly failed your generation. We would be in agreement on housing issues, but you seem to be of the opinion that more and more people moving here has no impact on these things. It does, so if you support that, then that one is on you.
You also live in a time of peace because generations before you died or grew up fatherless and motherless as a result.
You also live in a time of advanced medicine where you were far less likely to be disabled or die as a child.
There has probably never been a better time for school leavers to get jobs in about 50 years.
If you are gay you have rights unimaginable even 30 years ago
So yeah, things aren't perfect but they never are. You do moan a hell of a lot and I sincerely doubt your solutions would work either

Outnumbered by smug twats. Actually because of my sons and their friends etc, we have probably 20 -30 friends who are aged around 28 - late 30's. You wouldn't fit in at all. They're enjoying life, not full of angst about practically everything. Oh, and I doubt any of them would have clue what you're talking about - "enlightened centralists" ??

Lol yes not one of them has any worry about anything I'm sure and they definitely all think people who vote tory are very normal.
You're right I do nothing but post on CCMB in my life. I never go to other countries, holidays with my girlfriend, drinks with mates, barbecues, work socials, playing football, never not once.

First paragraph I've got no idea what you're talking about
Second paragraph, this isn't talking about all previous generations it's talking about one in particular. They didn't fight any wars, except against the young.
Job vacancies don't matter if people working full time can't afford basic necessities..
You say housing like its a tiny thing, it's a huge thing.
As I said earlier, why not give me billions if there are no problems caused from that?

No not at all, if someone wants to take part or watch it then that’s upto them. It’s just my personal opinion and choice not to. Nothing against the royals either but just not my thing. I hate the feeling of people feeling they are above others - happens in many areas of life.

Re: Coronation Cobblers And Nonsense
Not seen or heard anything of the coronation cobblers and nonsense today (proved easier to tune out than I thought) but I did notice that the motorway network was better than usual. Cardiff to Evesham to Coventry to Sheffield was so much easier than normal.
So many forelock tuggers glued to their TVs or getting pissed on by the monarchy and the weather. Very nice!
Can we have a coronation every day? Leave the roads clear for republicans?

I knew as the BBC (which has educated me enormously over the years regarding non-political matters) took over all major BBC radio stations simultaneously. Furiously trying to change stations as I drove up over the Blackdown Hills, one could press the buttons for Radio 4 to 1 (my preference) and then onto local BBC radio stations without missing a word of the same broadcast, which went on for hours.
It was akin to the behaviour of totalitarian regimes and reminded me of 'A Clockwork Orange'.Attachment 5547
