Ramsey will be absolutely idolised if he comes back here.
And rightly so, we should be thanking our lucky stars that he’s even considering coming back home
Probably one of the best players ever to come through our youth set up.

My concern are that his legs have gone. This doesn't just mean that a player can't run like they used to. It also has a lot to do with how they connect with a ball, get it down and in front of them, play with ease and comfort. Bale's legs had gone. He was struggling on the ball towards the end.
But, the romantic in me says yes to Ramsey, and why not? Shouldn't football be about getting excited about a signing, what that player could potentially offer? If the deal happens, and along with a couple of other signings with potential, then I will get excited about it, it will renew my hopes for the coming season. And, as football fans, that's how it should be
The last paragraph sums it up for me. This is what football should be all about.

You would hope so, and I'm sure that if he does come that his class and vision will show through, he really is a gifted footballer. We've all seen top level players who are done though, it's an odd one, the brain still works quicker than the rest but the body just won't produce. I'm not saying that Ramsey is at that point, but he is on the slide now. The last thing I would want to see is Ramsey diminishing before us.

I also don't want to see Ramsey diminished before he signs for us. That would be even worse.

Although with doubts, I am happy he is coming home to us. That said, “opened talks” is very early stages. A bit early to cream our Y-Fronts just yet.

By all accounts he has been offered a contract and needs to discuss it at home

Number must have been lower than he thought then, has to check in with the wife. There's probably some boyhood club discount but I hope we didn't take the piss.
Who's the highest earner at the club you reckon? Robinson?

He must have plenty of coin in the bank but will no doubt get other offers. Just depends if they fancy Caerphilly or the Costa Blanca.
Wasn't Rambo getting a reported £90k a week when he was up at Rangers?
I hope we are offering a long way below that.

Re: Claim that Ramsey will sign for City 'next week'...
‘Talks’ - what does that mean?
CCFC:Hey Aaron, would you like to play for the city?
Aaron: ‘No’

Wasn’t he still in contract at Juventus so they were just paying part of his wage.
He’s out of contract now so his wage is zero. I’m sure he could still get a better pay day than us but hopefully he just wants to come home.

£20k should do it. Maybe £18k. But if we offer even less, maybe he has second thoughts? If he wanted the better pay day there's always Trabzonspor.

£100k a week in Saudi for a plumber.

He was reportedly on 400k a week at Juve, should have plenty in the bank

I think that was rubbish. He was on a paltry 175k a week.

Regardless of what he's been offered, surely if he's considering coming to City it's not for the money

Yeh definitely! But probably doesn't want to be taken advantage of too. Give an inch take a mile like.

Way more than we could afford , clearly

yeah there isn't be a limit to how much of a wage disparity he would be happy to accept though.
if he's been offered 25k elsewhere and we offer 20k then that might be fine for him, whereas if he can get 80k Vs our 20k he might feel that's too big of a difference to justify playing for Cardiff.
on the latter example he would effectively be paying £3m a year to play for us - even if he wanted to be might feel that he couldn't justify that

Totally get what you're saying but surely he must have an idea of what's likely to be realistically on the cards

Re: Claim that Ramsey will sign for City 'next week'...
I’m sure I ready a percentage to do with image rights as well and merchandise etc.

He’d be living with his family, though. It depends how much security he would get. I think it’s the length of the contract that matters. He’s already extremely wealthy so he can afford to do what makes him happy. His family will stay in Cardiff if he went abroad, which is why he is leaving Nice.

I don’t think it matters, he wants to be at home with his wife and kids, don’t blame him one bit. We are the only club that can realistically offer him that, possibly the wurzels or jacks but that ain’t going to happen. Nor Villa or wolves….

He's no longer a top flight player

That’s the way I was looking at it, his previous enormous wages just maybe the financial safety net that allows him to come home.

I mean that MIGHT mean he's prepared to forgo a couple of million pounds a year to come here, but I don't think I would.

We just need him to sign before Saudi Arabia calls him.

It's a shame we have been so badly run these last few years as if we performing towards top end of championship as we should be then I suspect it would have been easier to complete this deal ( not so sure about Bale as not so emotional for him)

The French top flight is about the level of the championship
He's lost pace , gets injured and is older
If he would play 60 minutes for us in the majority of games then that would be nice
We are not signing a 28 year old

As in he's a mercenary who never had any interest in his home town club
