The missus seems very interested in this scandal.
Just used her laptop and her search history is full of searches for BBC nude photos.

I have no idea what that means but obviously you thought it relevant to the thread. If the reports are correct then the person taking advantage of this teenager needs the punishment appropriate to their sins. However be under no illusion that this thread was triggered because the person works for the BBC rather than through care and consideration for the victim.
Sorry to break your narrative, but the thread was started because the news was trending on the social media platforms.

It was legal at the time. It's like having a go at people who drunk and drive in the 50's & 60's when even the coppers and judges were doing it.

Careful Nels, you are going to trigger the Russia collusion hoaxers on here who ignored all the original source documents, whilst salivating over soundbites from "government officials with knowledge of the subject matter speaking under conditions of anonymity" on the Rachael Maddow show, who just happened to be in on the scam!
Edit: Oops, too late

As was slavery. So that was ok too?

If you want to go through history with a magnifying glass then you will probably find that most of it was not ok, and people in the the future will no doubt be criticizing the 2020's, unless you think we have suddenly cracked the code and discovered a panacea for life?

So the person you say is a pervert in 2023 wouldn’t have been one in 1983 if they’d done the same thing?

Perverts aren't a new thing. On a side note, what do you think of this new trend of (mostly male) adults being naked in public in front of children? I don't know much about it, but it seems to be a hot topic on social media.

Martin Bashir: Inquiry criticises BBC over 'deceitful' Diana interview , that went well
The former broadcaster Stuart Hall has been released from jail after serving half of his sentence for sexual abuse.
The It's a Knockout presenter was imprisoned in 2013 after admitting indecently assaulting 13 girls - one as young as nine - between 1967 and 1985.
His sentence was extended in 2014 when he pleaded guilty to two counts of indecently assaulting a teenage girl.
Its a haven of disgrace
This is clearly a political attack on the BBC......which has a tory boss by the way .....and not a concern about the victim, alleged or otherwise .....of this presenter
Don't come that with me sonny

Re: Gary Lineker, Rylan Clark and Jeremy Vine rule themselves out of being the latest BBC pervert
When I was Chair of Governors at a local primary school in the early noughties, I had a long discussion about what we would do if one of our teachers faced allegations of impropriety. We took the view that the teacher should be suspended and that such suspension should be regarded as a neutral act ( I e making no suggestion of guilt or innocence) until such time that the allegation was proved or otherwise. This was not ideal for a teacher who was innocent, but did safeguard the child.
This was pretty common practice at the time and as far as I know is often the case today.
Surely the BBC should have done this with the presenter involved.

This might come as a bit of a shock to you but most people blessed with an element of empathy just see perverts. They don't see BBC perverts as per your delightful header any more than they see GB News or Fox News perverts.
They see no difficulty in calling out suggestions that Biden is pervert #1 as whatabouterry by pointing at even bigger shithouses. They would definitely call proven perverts what they are regardless of badge.
Some of us remember posters like you, well you, defending perverts like prospective Alabama senators to the hilt because they were Trump Republicans. Now that was a narrative. In other times you have spread bollocks about child molesters and people traffickers using pizza places to take kids into sex slavery because the place was frequented by Hilary Clinton and pumped up shit that the Sandy Hook massacre of infants was a false flag.
Still you fight the good fight, eh!

Nice try mate, my only contribution on that subject was posting a video from the public enquiry where the janitor was questioned under oath.

Re: Gary Lineker, Rylan Clark and Jeremy Vine rule themselves out of being the latest BBC pervert
We are told that is is a presenter who is male, highly paid, a household name and has been taken off air in recent days. I am certainly not alleging it it this person, but whether co-incidence or not, this person has been taken off air as of Thursday evening, for "content review".

Highest paid BBC presenters in 2023:

No guarantee, but I cannot find anyone else taken off air. I guess we will find out.

There is nothing political about this story regardless of its source.
On your second point I agree especially people who hide behind their keyboards. Too much of it goes on.

Clive Myrie was talking about potential jail sentences on the news last night, and I was surprised that he went into so much detail after the deathly silence of the past few days.

Of course there is
It's of no coincidence that the newspapers and media outlets highlighting these alleged incidents and encouraging foaming mouthed comment all over social media .....are anti bbc .....the sun and the daily mail
They are not interested in whats happened or hasn't happened , they are just happy to get the knives out
The comments by life on mars about the political slant of the BBC just about sum it all up

It doesn't matter to the BBC who appear to be acting correctly on information
But the daily mail nutters are lighting bonfires all over the place
We could have a situation that a young person has been sexually assaulted or coerced into sexual acts yet the pitchfork mob are linking it all into some left wing , woke nonsense
Is the BBC a safe haven for sex offenders ?
Of course it isn't
Unless you read the trash press or follow gb news

I know more than I am letting on, but this could potentially be devastating for the BBC if it plays out in a certain way.

Jon Kay is not presenting BBC Breakfast this morning. Sally Nugent is very keen to mention that he's on holiday this week. She's done so about 4 or 5 times throughout the programme.

If this drags on much longer we're going to have more people ITK about who the BBC presenter is than about whether Aaron Ramsey's signing for us or not.

Who'd have thought News At Ten would be unmissable TV.
