Still touring but Rob Halford comes on stage in a wheelchair these days instead of on a motorbike
Ol' Rob used to make me laugh, riding a motorbike on stage! Did he actually ride one on the road?

Back in the days when i bought rock records, I purchased Priests 'Sin After Sin'. Thought it was a great album and looked forward to their next releases. However, they turned into a pop/rock act with Living After Midnight and Breaking The law. Which turned me off them. Then o f course thy started to go in a more metal direction, thus attracting the teenybopper metal hordes, of which no doubt you were one of.
It's the same with Ian Gillan. Loved Purple and saw the Ian Gillan band live in I think, March '77 at Cardiff Uni, on his Clear Air Turbulence tour. I went backstage and chatted to him for ages after the gig. Lovely bloke! Fast forward a couple of years and he too is releasing pop/rock stuff. All the singles released by 'Gillan' were far, far better done by the original artists. Stuff like Trouble, and New Orleans. I too lost interest in the guy as a credible artist.

My great, great, great Gandad died at Rourkes Drift. He was camping in the next field and went over to ask them to keep the noise down.

I'm 59.
I am amazed at the seemingly high average age of people who post (regularly) on here, if this thread is anything to go by.
I have raised this before but are (football) message boards just not used as much any more as there are so many other ways of communicating with fans now e.g. Twitter etc?
Twitter etc is much more accessible and instant but a message board provides a different type of forum (rather obviously).

Re: Who Is The Oldest Poster On Here ?
With cash is king posts , anti electric car threads , with a few old Tories thrown in I had the average age as about 80.

34, used to post on here when I was 16. I knew posters on this forum tended to skew older but pretty surprised by the age of some people on here.

Last proper gig I went to was The Zombies a couple of months back. Bought tickets in 2019 but it got put back 3 times, twice due to COVID and once when a band member needed an operation.
The original venue closed down and it was moved to one in a nearby town but, by the time it finally happened, the replacement for the first venue has been built, so it took place there.
There were several times when I wondered if one of the band members or I might not last until the rearranged show and apparently, a few people didn't. I'm 62 btw.

I'm no Judas Priest fan but they were the first band I ever saw. They supported the excellent local combo 'Budgie'.the band I did go and see, at Barry Memorial Hall in 1973. Tickets were 50p.

Dan is playing the progfest festival tomorrow night at Lorely on the banks of the Rhine,
couldn't make it and a bit gutted. This is an iconic venue, the venue of the Rockpalast gigs of the 80's & 90's, the band he is playing for are on before Nick Mason’s Saucerful Of Secrets.
