We couldn't park a wheelbarrow...

Re: CARDIFF CITY v LEEDS UNITED. Match thread
There's zero press whenever Leeds have the ball in defence.
Our midfield is non-existent, and as another poster has already pointed out, the captain's armband gets handed to Wintle.

We did park the bus- just that they played straight through it. We have not gone after them and yet again there is no attacking threat.
-
Re: CARDIFF CITY v LEEDS UNITED. Match thread
We do we seem to have given up and lost before some games have even started? It's happened under several managers now.

I meant parking the bus like Preston did. It wasn't pretty but it was effective.

4 defenders and 3 defensively minded central midfielders is about as much parking the bus as you can get in today's game, what is needed is to not have a midfield who can't make a couple of simple passes without giving the ball back to the opposition and then not have 3 forward minded players who are completely isolated and can't do anything with it even on the few occasions they actually get the ball.

It's going exactly how I thought it would. Attack is the best form of defence. Not by Bulut's way of thinking though with his stating 11, it has. We have been shockingly bad, far worse than I thought we would be. Stick Joel Colwell and Ashford on, we might as well go with youngsters

Great summing up 👍😭

PAUL Merson’s comment on Sky Sports:——
“Cardiff shouldn’t be in the same league as them, if I’m honest”

Re: CARDIFF CITY v LEEDS UNITED. Match thread
I see Steve Morisson off to a good start....currently Sutton winning 2-1 v Barrow (near the top...)
-
Re: CARDIFF CITY v LEEDS UNITED. Match thread
he's not the only one of course, but Wintle:facepalm:

That'll teach us to have a shot on their goal.
-
Re: CARDIFF CITY v LEEDS UNITED. Match thread
Schoolboy defending perfectly demonstrated on multiple occasions whilst conceding one goal.
When did tackling each other and three players then all going for the same ball whilst defending one attack become something that professional footballers do???
Just embarrassing.

one end to another...two city players around Dan James...run into each other.....what can be said....no way should the play have been stopped. we are lucky it has not been 7 or 8.
Not his greatest fan, but at least Colwill has looked for the ball and tried o do something. Rino also not done too bad on the whole.

Re: CARDIFF CITY v LEEDS UNITED. Match thread
How did the ref not stop the game for the collision. It was a head injury. Stopped the game for them.
-
Re: CARDIFF CITY v LEEDS UNITED. Match thread
I haven't seen the game but how much of it is due to the players and how much the manager/coaching staff ? Is Bulut really the man to take the club forward ?
As others have said, even when there is a gulf in class as there is in some FA cup ties, the underdogs usually show spirit and go down fighting.
-
Re: CARDIFF CITY v LEEDS UNITED. Match thread
Absolute gulf in class of player here. Our players just do not think or anticipate things the way the Leeds players do. We’re a couple of years away from having a team of players of such quality.
-
Re: CARDIFF CITY v LEEDS UNITED. Match thread
Wish I had watched the Grimsby v Notts County game 5-5.
This game was just shocking.....no idea.....3-4 players are not going to fix our problems.
If it had not been for Alnwick this would have been hugely embarrassing...no Q he was MOM...
-
Re: CARDIFF CITY v LEEDS UNITED. Match thread
Bulut is to blame for such another negative side. 3 dogs in midfield and no creativity. Standing off them given them too much respect.
Siopis has become a liability. Can't pass and gets bullied off the ball too easily.
Wintle can only pass sideways or backwards.
We are in desperate need of players.
Only positive is once again Colwill looked decent. Not special but the only one who looked like doing something.
-
Re: CARDIFF CITY v LEEDS UNITED. Match thread
The only positive from that game was Rodon & Ampadu at CB in a back 4. Could it work for Wales?

Massive gulf,we need a influx of players with class.

Stop an attack for the 'Keystone cops' type calamity of the two City players?
The ref' made the right decision - play on.
-
Re: CARDIFF CITY v LEEDS UNITED. Match thread
We were woeful today. Possibly at our lowest ebb so far this season. We need quality recruitment fast.

Rinomhota did that all by himself, comical stuff.

But is that enough or does the manager have to prove he has the tactical know-how and motivational qualities to move us forward ?
-
Re: CARDIFF CITY v LEEDS UNITED. Match thread
well there we have it... could have been more can almost say we did well to keep the score down
but yeah its always a tough 1 when folks say the teams are miles apart... as someone said lower league and non league teams go on little runs in cup cometitions and so on
on the day its 11 v 11 you should at least be able to do something, or why are you competing at this level
it was bad, it was pretty bad, but ive walked out of a game gutted before now when we won 3-0 and played that poor, i like to see good football no matter what
i dread to think what those who knock up score numbers for the individual performances are going to make of it, aww well onto the next game
