Ever been a hatrick of own goals recently? Only one I can think of is Dicks for Middlesbough v City many decades ago...(we won 5-3)

It doesnt really .
Football teams play differently every week , other wise some sides would win all their games and others lose all theirs.

come on lads, we're only 28 points off direct qualification

Re: COVENTRY CITY v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
Take the players to a hotel on Friday, bus ‘em in on Saturday, put the Hull fans in the Canton Stand, fit all of us in the away section. Might just work.

It was Dickie Rooks and it was a hat trick at the right end

He’s a foul away to going off so wouldn’t surprise me if he’s taken off.
Depressing it’s for Wintle.

Exactly
Using the same logic Ipswich are not as good as everybody thinks they are and have been really lucky to be top of the league as they lost to a shocking team like us.

Dickie Rooks the Middlesbrough centre half scored all three of their goals in the Greg Farrell match - the wine going down nicely this afternoon Maurice? :hehe:
I’m not aware of anyone scoring a hat trick of own goals before, still time for Nr Kitching though.
-
Re: COVENTRY CITY v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
We’re starting to panic

WHY make subs at this stage...when the players on the field are on the pace.....it just disturbs he pattern....

Re: COVENTRY CITY v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
They’re going to throw the Kitching sink at us

Because the mgt are useless, he barely ever gets subs right

Re: COVENTRY CITY v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
Can we sign Liam Kitching please? Get him in and playoffs are on!
-
Re: COVENTRY CITY v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
they have great composure
-
Re: COVENTRY CITY v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
Great win, some better footballer, some excellent defending at the end.
-
Re: COVENTRY CITY v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
Happens every year, pressure leads to strange results involving teams at the top/ bottom of the table.
-
Re: COVENTRY CITY v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
Certainly can’t moan at the entertainment, effort & sheer dogged defending at the death. Enjoyed that:thumbup:
-
Re: COVENTRY CITY v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
One has to ask why why why...can they be so bloody awful one game and then this game they actually play ok?
-
Re: COVENTRY CITY v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread

Re: COVENTRY CITY v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
Not a bad game, but we were gifted two own-goals. Didn't really look like scoring otherwise.
-
Re: COVENTRY CITY v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
surely bulut deserves a contract now!? 2 own goals and parking the bus for 30minutes
roll on next season!
-
Re: COVENTRY CITY v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
That was decent enough. Holding on for last 15 minutes, but credit to the defenders and midfield. A bit more fluent in attack and a bit quicker today. Improvement.
-
Re: COVENTRY CITY v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
No surprise we do better away from home where we’re expected to play as we do.
Great unexpected win though so I’m not complaining
-
Re: COVENTRY CITY v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
We have Ng, we should sign up his cousin Og.

Well, if the ball is put into dangerous areas and we get players in those positions then sometimes there's a bit of luck. Meite had a half chance in the first half that should have worked the keeper a bit more and Grant was clean through and missed the target. Not all bad.

Grant looked like he might when clean through. I’m wrong there with ‘might’, he should have scored.
-
Re: COVENTRY CITY v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
Well that wasn't in the script was it.
Perhaps there may have been some truth in what Bulut accused the players of last week after all.
All put a shift in this afternoon fair play.

Re: FT: COVENTRY CITY 1 - 2 CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
Well I’ll be blowed. Didn’t see that coming.
-
Re: FT: COVENTRY CITY 1 - 2 CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
Bowler played well. Credit where it's due. He worked really hard, was positive on the ball.
-
Re: COVENTRY CITY v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
Sometimes it is down to the opposition?
