Apparently they turned down a huge bid from Southampton for Nathan Wood.
Hes in the last year of his contract and hes been told he can be sold.
Problem is hes not worth anywhere near what they turned down.

With the Ipswich lads it would have been 6 or 7 players, plus the Leicester goalkeeper (if you can count him as he hardly plays).

They might not have stayed or got games. James was on the bench today. Roberts will go back to Burnley. Rodon is on loan from Spurs and they'll probably send him away again next year. Might have been good for Ampadu.

SkyBet have posted the full list of prices for the Championship title next season and Leeds are the favourites. Of course, things can and will change before the season begins, but as things stand the prices are as follows:
6/1 - Leeds Utd
13/2 - Burnley
10/1 - Luton
12/1 - Middlesbrough
12/1 - Norwich
12/1 - West Brom
14/1 - Coventry
14/1 - Sheffield Utd
Let’s be honest, the Championship looks a pretty bland division next season. Same old list of contenders. Not very inspiring at all.

No. In 2019/20 City were rated 4th favourites going into the campaign. Leeds were favourites and they won it. Fulham were second favourites and they went up via the play-offs. West Brom were rated third-best. They finished second.

They’ve made an offer for Grimes as well

Leeds First team in Championship history to get 90 points & not go up
First team to lose 4 Play-off finals
Won 41 points from an available 45 at the start of 2024 & didn’t go up

Sunderland failed to win promotion with 90 points in the 90s after losing in the playoffs, though technically it was Division One, not the Championship.

Re: FT: Leeds 0 - 1 Southampton. Play off final
Strange to hear Steve Wilson commentating on ITV4. ITV used the commentary from the World Feed. I watched a stream earlier with Jon Champion commentating and it was woeful.

Re: FT: Leeds 0 - 1 Southampton. Play off final
Just looked and think Sunderland also hit 90 points in the 90's too without going up !

They dropped off after the last international break and were never the same again. Opposition teams were doubling up on their wide players and the midfield had no attacking threat. It looked like they had rediscovered their form at home to Norwich, but Summerville & Gnonto didn't really turn up today, and there's no Plan B.

Glad 'Dirty' Leeds lost. I have held an irrational hatred of them since they poached Charlie Crew

Don Revie, Johnny Giles, Billy Bremner, Jack Charlton, Norman Hunter, Gary Sprake and the other dirty sods I missed out from Leeds' sixties teams, your boys took a hell of a beating.

Particularly since then, I'm not old enough (just) to remember dirty Leeds of the early 70's. My first memories are of Brian Flynn and Tony Currie (what a player) in centre midfield. They were also rans by then

Not really, if they fail to get that 5 Million bonus it will come from other player sales, they need their yearly bonus, don't they?
The only good thing to come out of it, Leeds are a much stronger team next season than Southampton would have been.

Re: FT: Leeds 0 - 1 Southampton. Play off final
probably makes it more likely that Drameh will be offered another contract there?

Re: FT: Leeds 0 - 1 Southampton. Play off final
Interesting early odds on the Premier League relegation market for 2024/25:
1/2 - Leicester City
8/11 - Ipswich Town
11/8 - Southampton
So, as things stand, the bookies seem to believe that Southampton under Russell Martin will be far better equipped to deal with the Premier League than either Leicester or Ipswich.

Leicester and Ipswich Managers linked with new jobs though?
Otherwise i'd have Southampton favourites to go down.

The Leicester odds must be down to the likelihood of them losing their manager. I find that a surprise.
I also feel, though I have no stats to back this up, that teams who are comfortable on the ball and can pass it well are more likely to stay up and do well in the PL.

And Leicesters is linked with Chelsea and others.

I think Leicesters odds are because theres a chance of a points deduction.

Ah, that makes more sense. As regards the managers, Leicester are likely to get someone decent in and McKenna’s apparently staying at Ipswich.

If Leicester and Ipswich keep the Managers, I think at least one of them will stay up, although I thought Burnley would stay last year.

So did the bookies. Burnley were 3/1 to be relegated back in August, and it was a handsome 14/1 against all three promoted clubs getting relegated.
Sheffield United were 4/1 to finish bottom, while Luton were 9/2 to finish highest of the three promoted sides.

The bookies are all tossers
