Good shift second half though, he was everywhere and involved in everything

I enjoyed the second half.

Re: CARDIFF CITY v BRISTOL ROVERS. Match thread
Id have Reindorf in the first team. Good athlete with a good touch on him. Looked more threatening than our current first team strikers.

He did well in the centre
He’s like a league one Lee Trundle

Re: CARDIFF CITY v BRISTOL ROVERS. Match thread
Reindorf Is very raw, but already more deserving of a place ahead of Kanga.

I’d play Reindorf instead of Kanga on that showing. No comparison.

Job done!
Perspective needed against a very average team but City very comfortable winners.
Good to see a few young uns and like the look of Reindorf.

Re: CARDIFF CITY v BRISTOL ROVERS. Match thread
We were a lot better after the substitutions. Colwill different class as the 10. Tanner and Evans direct on the wings. Reindorf should be closer to the 1st Team than Kanga based on that. In fact I'd consider starting him Saturday at least he'd put himself about and close down defenders (unless Bulut trains it out of him)

Re: CARDIFF CITY v BRISTOL ROVERS. Match thread
The subs and moving Colwill to 10 made all the difference, still utter garbage for most of the game.

Was going to say the same thing, you beat me to it. Exactly what our "style of play" needs up front.

We are not quite hitting the heights of a Man City , I hope it comes for you though.

We weren't hitting the heights of Bristol Rovers, I was hoping for better.

You've made the mistake of assuming just because we weren't that good, that it means the opposition were alot better.
Us having more possession meant we were crap for longer periods than they were.

As has been said it was turgid slow football until the substitutions then moving Colwill to the number 10 position brought him to life and he ran the game from then on in, Tanner did what he didn’t do on Saturday and ran at his man, beating him several times and Reindorf came on, held the ball up, ran at pace at their defenders and put himself about a bit, all the things Kanga didn’t do when he was on the pitch. I think starting him is a stretch but on that showing he’s a much better alternative coming off the bench than Kanga is. I suspect Tanner likewise is going to be more effective as an impact sub rather than a starter.
Colwill deserves a chance to play a game at 10 but I think Robertson will be in front of him
I’m pretty sure however for Burnley we will see Ralls Ramsey and Siopis as the midfield 3

Its the hope that will kill you .
Tonight we played Bristol Rovers , we beat them 2-0 ,looked better than them all night
when the subs came on we played extremely well , all in all what more can the team do
Tanner was pretty awful on Saturday , looked lively tonight . Colwell was on fire , unfortunately didnt score ...oh yeah he did ,didnt finish his goal celebration with double barani , that is something his play lacks , we should send him out on loan so he can learn his trade.
Of course we should have won 15-0 playing outstanding wave after wave of attacking football .
Next round perhaps.

Re: CARDIFF CITY v BRISTOL ROVERS. Match thread
Thought the manager got it spot on .
Wore down the opposition then went for the kill.
Some wonderful cameo performances from the youngsters .
Rinomhota impressed .
Keepers distribution first class.
Robertson looks like an expansive midfielder.
Colwill did well look knackered at the end ( dreadful hair )
Thought the two full backs were excellent considering thier inexperience. .
Future looks bright .

I'd drop Ramsey and Siopis, play Robertson, Rinomhota, Ralls.

Spot on
Reindorf wanted to impress, looked decent, a great work rate, and never gave up on anything, he will be in the squad soon enough based on that performance, he and Colwill stood out. It was much better after the three subs came on together.

Re: FT: CARDIFF CITY 2 - 0 BRISTOL ROVERS. Match thread
Just got back from the game (20 quid for an adult ticket FFS), some observations;
First half was pretty uninspiring, looked a lot like Saturday to be honest, lots of backwards and sideways passing, not many forward runs. Conte was excellent and Robertson looked lively but other than that it was lifeless. Bagan and Rinamhota were particularly bad with their inability to spot a forward.
Second half though... what a change. Colwill had been playing out wide in the first half. I dont know why. He never ever ever gets involved out wide. Second half he played up the middle and absolutely ran the show. Tanner was great when he came on (yeah him), likewise Keiron Evans and Michael Reindorf. Eli King and had a mich better 2nd half as well. The football was no possession based but just so much more direct, lots of off the ball movement and the front 4 were all prepared to take on their man. We blew Rovers away. The one concern was that we should have scored more.

I’d try Rambo deeper with Robertson, Colwill 10 and Reindorf up front.

That's not a bad shout. However, ultra-conservative Bulut will no doubt stick with Ramsey, Ralls, and Siopis.
-
Re: FT: CARDIFF CITY 2 - 0 BRISTOL ROVERS. Match thread
In the end, I enjoyed the game because, by Cardiff home standards, it had a fair bit going for it, but that really does show how low a bar it is we’re talking about. The question is will Bulut factor this game into his selections for the coming Championship games? Based on last year, he won’t- we played really well in winning at Birmingham in the League Cup last season, but it may as well never have happened when it came to selection in league games.
-
Re: FT: CARDIFF CITY 2 - 0 BRISTOL ROVERS. Match thread
I thought the front 4 for the last 30 showed exactly how we need to play in all fixtures.
The front 3 all did very well when coming on. The Keiron Evans situation is a mystery. You can see the talent that led them to give him a new contract (the same with Tom Davies) but he is so far down the pecking order he is never going to play.
I thought Conte was disappointing as a winger, if he has a 1st team future, surely it is as a right back. Although Kpakio looks better than him there.
I thought Bagan did well, King looked only half fit (but you can see what he brings) and Giles was a bit weak defensively.
Ruben, as we all ready know, is different gravey and we should be building a team around him.
