Would’ve been perfect for Colwill for 20 mins

Yep, whichever way it goes (and at the moment I'm guessing it will be messy), ending with Johnson, Thomas and Harris still on the pitch is a statement of intent from Bellamy

Re: MONTENEGRO v WALES. Match thread
If this ref gave all the fouls he should have, they’d be on about 50

The ratio of fouls committed to bookings is laughable.
Edit: good win 👏

Re: MONTENEGRO v WALES. Match thread
Sorba Thomas has done well , held the ball up instead of panicking
-
Re: MONTENEGRO v WALES. Match thread
Good result considering the weather and the referee.

Colwill in these conditions would have struggled I think 🤔
-
Re: MONTENEGRO v WALES. Match thread
That'll do
I imagine the FAW will be busy tonight writing complaints about that pitch and referee, dreadful!
-
Re: MONTENEGRO v WALES. Match thread
Good result. It wasn't pretty but job very much done.

Was the referee really that bad in the 2nd half?

How on earth did we end the game on more cards than them

Re: FT: MONTENEGRO 1 - 2 WALES. Match thread
I thought Darlow did well.

It was an improvement on the first half to be fair to him...

You'd want him on the pitch next to you if there was lightning, that's all i'm saying.

He was incredibly lenient on them.

In conditions like that grab the points then come home

Re: MONTENEGRO v WALES. Match thread
Cooper is not an international player.
The ref was crap never want to see him again.
But job done onwards and upwards.:wales:

Imagine him being asked to help see out a game in those conditions ?
Sorba Thomas was excellent

Dunno really, there was plenty of space to exploit and Bellamy had no interest in us sitting in.

No. The first half was a mare but he was pretty even second half. Better sides than that have lost to Montenegro. Had a horrible feeling the comments Bellamy made after the Turkish match would come back to haunt him but luckily (for him and us) we held on. Not convinced we deserved to after 90 mins but it's a win. Inexperience from Bellamy imo with the subs and conditions. Better than Bulutball though.

Montenegro are ranked in the 70s or something close to that. From a personal point of view, i loved it, **** defending. I want wales to win but it doesn'r really hurt me when they don't, so i can just sit back and take whatever comes really. I wonder what 'Guru' Colonel Kurtz' Bellamy will have to say...

Sorba Thomas stood up and held onto the ball
That's not colwills game especially on a piss soaked pitch with the pressure on

Re: FT: MONTENEGRO 1 - 2 WALES. Match thread
Entertaining watch. Bellamy's visits to the Erol Bulut Coaching Academy clearly paying dividends.

How do these refs get away with being so biased when in places like that? Bizarre in this day and age

I thought he was awesome on Friday. Think he's one of our best players. He didn't seem bothered by the conditions just carried on from where he left off against Turkey. Cooper was dire. It was never going to be pretty in those conditions. As you say, grab the points and get home. Move on. We've lost many we should have won recently and won one we may (should?) have lost.

Bellamy looked like he'd kitted himself out in Matalan.

I thought it was a leather jacket at first.

He's a very effective squad player

....I think there's a happy medium between defending and attacking....we now have the polar opposites in Bulut and Bellamy. I love Bellamy though but there will come a time....just saying.

Sorba was the coolest head at the end of the game and his positivity was excellent. I know his hand was forced by Dan James being out but credit to Bellamy for getting those performances out of him.

Re: FT: MONTENEGRO 1 - 2 WALES. Match thread
I believe that was our first ever win in the former Yugoslavia

Best way to win a game at 1-2 is to get a third.

I agree. We missed two cracking opportunities to go 0-3 up though. Del Boy Bellamy ...'he who dares Rodders' is going to take a bit of getting used to after Page and watching Cardiff.

Did anyone else imagine the VAR screen as a CRT set playing pong?
