Well done City.

youngest team in the division
best defensive record so far
unbeaten, 100% record at home.

Re: CARDIFF CITY v ROTHERHAM UTD. Match thread
Until that late mix up where the game was done kept them without a shot, that will do. I can't get over how well Lawlor dealt with Hugill, really hope we can keep hold of him and Kpakio, both look like they could be regulars at a decent level.

I only got to listen to it on the old wireless radio machine, it sounded like Turnbull had a good game? Really pleased to get a clean sheet, Lawlor and Fish could be a long term partnership for the club?

contrast with this time last season.
oldest team in the league, 1 point and 1 goal from 3 games, worst defensive record in the league.
much bigger wage bill.

Turnbull was MOM today for me!

Re: CARDIFF CITY v ROTHERHAM UTD. Match thread
Definitely not a moan. Great display of controlled football. But...why did we not go for 5/6 goals...entertain the paying folk. Rotherham had given up chasing the ball...bet Robbo was itching to get on the scoresheet

that's an insane take.
we were on the wrong end of two penalty decisions and kept pressing for more goals til the very end.
unbelievable.

Re: FT: CARDIFF CITY 3 - 0 ROTHERHAM UTD. Match thread
Looked at the stats, looked like utter domination. Glad Salech's finally on the scoresheet, Ashford is continuing to show his promise and Colwill gets another to make it 3 in 4 games. A win against Wimbledon and a result against Luton and Plymouth, and I'm really optimistic about this season, especially with signings.
Heard Mafico was horrendous. He's young, so I don't want to chew him out though. We need another LB alongside a CB and winger, maybe Mafico can go back to the U21's for a bit. But he's not looked great in his games so far sadly.

Passing it around the back continually...took the foot off the gas...

Pretty, pretty good. Playing some decent stuff. Goals. Clean sheet. Who could ask for more. Great start to the weekend.

Is that a complaint?

Looking back at the highlights, Turnbull looked incredible today. Glad to see him showing the quality expected of him.

The amount of complaining there would have been on here if we’d pushed forward and given up a goal or two, just no pleasing some.
Rotherham are probably crap, but that was as close to a perfect afternoon as we are ever going to get. With a bit more composure in the first half we’d have had that 4 or 5 goal win and held the other team to one meaningless shot at the end.

Rotherham must be the worst team we've played in some time - where did they finish last year?

Re: FT: CARDIFF CITY 3 - 0 ROTHERHAM UTD. Match thread
Bagan absence explained. Chest pains hospital tests.
BBM says Mafico is a number 6 so cover needed.
Brilliant result. Let's back this manager.

Re: FT: CARDIFF CITY 3 - 0 ROTHERHAM UTD. Match thread
Why wasn't Giles given a runout at left back I wonder?

Are we allowed to play decent stuff because we have spent more (albeit previously) than the other teams ?

To be fair, they've had a pretty easy start. But it would be hilarious to get promoted alongside Stevenage to be honest.

Re: FT: CARDIFF CITY 3 - 0 ROTHERHAM UTD. Match thread
An excellent performance and very enjoyable but… we wont face a worse side surely?
Could have had 2 pens.
Could we have pressed for more? Most definitely but it was a hot day so maybe there was an element of energy conservation.

Re: CARDIFF CITY v ROTHERHAM UTD. Match thread
Entertain the paying fans until the end...we won't get an easier chance to get the elusive 5 or 6 goals.
TLG...how many times have we scored 5 or more in the last few years?

We have also had an easy start. Wimbledon away will be a bigger test.
