Re: The Transfer Rumour Thread
Does this suggest we are not signing another winger/forward player?

Re: The Transfer Rumour Thread
On the weekend with Turnbull injured it was apparent we had no natural understudy to J Colwill on the bench. Unless there's another academy product coming through he might have to play a lot of games

Turnbull will be back by international break's end it sounds like, as will Robertson.

Good point, I'd completely forgotten about Robertson.

Mafico was on the bench.

I was surprised he wasn't brought on. Subbing Ng and moving Kpakio into midfield seemed an odd move

Glen Williams saying it looks unlikely we're going to get another LB in.

Damn, that sucks. Wonder who we’ll play there out of position once Bagan gets injured.

Giles came on there in the cup game, so probably him

Re: The Transfer Rumour Thread
My concern with Giles is BBMs 1st option was to play Mafico there. So does he rate him?

Luey Giles
He is a left back
Edit
Sorry missed the other replies

Giles, Glen Williams has said he won't be going out on loan unless we sign a left back

Noticeable too that he was named in the U21s squad at the start of the season while Kpakio, Mafico and Nyakuhwa were all shown as 1st team players.
Think Giles has potential but him as back up to Bagan right now clearly wasn't the plan.

Re: The Transfer Rumour Thread
I thought Osho could play left back?

Right back I think

Re: The Transfer Rumour Thread
I said I didn’t fancy Ng at left back, but I’ve only ever seen him play there in the Championship. Second thoughts, he should be okay there in League One and I think Kpakio could play there as well - them plus Giles would give us enough cover at left back I reckon.

I was going to say a young Gary Bell would be useful now.
But on second thoughts with today's refs, he would miss much of the season being suspended!

I think that's right, it wsn't the plan at the start of the season.
But Giles has been training with the First Team (more than most of the u21s on the evidence of club training clips) and I am growing in confidence that BBM and his coaches can improve players quickly if they are receptive.
He has already played in the cup this season.
I would rather BBM stays true to his word and shows faith in Academy players (provided they respond) rather than shutting off the pathway. From what has happened so far under this manager I am sure he has confidence in Giles - based on what he sees on the training pitch - or else he would have pushed for a loan move and a replacement.

Re: The Transfer Rumour Thread
Personally I think we’re at least 1 short. Having lost Tanner & King for the season plus we have a number of injury prone players. It’s great to have confidence in your squad but the squad still needs depth in numbers.

Is tanner out for the season? First I've heard.
