Re: EUROS FINAL. FT: ENGLAND 1 - 2 SPAIN
That result means it'll be at least 60 years of hurt for England.

Re: EUROS FINAL. FT: ENGLAND 1 - 2 SPAIN
Best team won.
The bigger the hype by the \english media, pundits, etc, - the bigger the fall.

Re: EUROS FINAL. ENGLAND v SPAIN
The Spanish were the best team in the tournament by a country mile. Well deserved.

Yep, totally agree. A team with Watkins, Palmer and maybe TAA getting forward, easily enough to give Spain a game over the 90 mins. As it was a brilliant goal and almost nothing else, deserved losers on the night.

Re: EUROS FINAL. ENGLAND v SPAIN
Best team won the Tournament. England were at their best when they got on the ball. England come up against an elite outfit and they're just not good enough. Should have been 4-1

If Treseder still needs a "Low Block" explanation its how England played tonight. Wankers.
Southgate was about to bring 2 defensive players on before Spain scored their second :hehe:

Pundits ripping into England after the final.

Ah well. 60 years of hurt.

Oh dear.
How sad.
Never mind.

Yeah, their false 9 should have added a bit of high press to his low block:hide:

Very fickle. They would all have been knighted if they’d scraped it.

Watch out for any kissing on that podium now.

Re: EUROS FINAL. FT: ENGLAND 1 - 2 SPAIN
I don't believe any team England put out would have been capable of going toe to toe with Spain. England could barely string three passes together before the Spanish won the ball back. A huge gulf in footballing skills, passing and movement. England got lucky again though.....it could easily have been 4-1.
-
Re: EUROS FINAL. FT: ENGLAND 1 - 2 SPAIN
England are not the team they thought they were
They didn't bottle it
It wasn't Southgates fault
They were beaten by a superior side with better players
That winning goal was pure class in movement and execution
-
Re: EUROS FINAL. FT: ENGLAND 1 - 2 SPAIN
When Southgate goes, I hope he takes the BBC pundit team with him!

The ball control in the swift passing movements by the Spanish, even in tight areas, was light years ahead of the English efforts. Pickford kept the score down along with some poor Spanish finishing from great positions that they’d worked themselves into.

Exactly, they’re kidding themselves if they think their players are on the same level as the Spanish.

England never are the team they, the media, pundits and fans think they are.
Same every competition

Re: EUROS FINAL. FT: ENGLAND 1 - 2 SPAIN
Some right miserable sods on here. Thought that was a decent final and the second half had three really good goals. Glad Spain won it as they deserved to and were the better team but at the end of the day we all know tournament football isn't like that.
Williams and Jamal were a joy to watch and some of the football Spain played was outstanding but Pickford kept England in it with one of his best performances imo.
For all those knocking Southgate, that's back-to-back Euros finals. Not a bad CV. If he was the Wales manager we'd be well happy.
Fair result but bloody hell there's some red-tinted specs. I enjoyed it anyway. That's all that matters! :hehe:

I think the criticism is fair given the pool of players he gets to choose from.

Southgate is a failure. England are a AA football nation. This is one loss too far, every time they come up against a top end national team they get shown up. 2nd half was decent, spain narrowed the play, the wide players came inside more and it worked.

Re: EUROS FINAL. FT: ENGLAND 1 - 2 SPAIN
6 players on three goals each for top scorer. Do they get one sixth of the golden boot each?

England have a habit of looking sterile, unimaginative, lacking creation and lacking movement. There always seems to be a sort of unjustified arrogance about their capabilities despite their ack of success.

Or you could say they always bottle it, which is strange considering their individual talents.

Re: EUROS FINAL. FT: ENGLAND 1 - 2 SPAIN
Really lost a huge amount of respect for Bellingham through this tournament. As a player and most definitely as a person. Scored that one great goal, but performance wise he has been utter dogshit for the vast majority. Yet struts about as if he's king of the world. By all accounts he was just sitting away from the rest of the team while Spain collected their medals. Strutting about only really works when you're backing it up !!

I think his meteoric rise may have gone to his head. He doesn't strike me as being a humble player at all.
