When you look at the Welsh results, the Tories polled better than Plaid Cymru at the last election. That says all you need to know about where the Welsh see their future. Around 10% vote for Plaid, and its not getting any higher than that.
Leaving the union would be economic suicide, as we have nothing much to offer the English in terms of trade.
Just like leaving Europe will be economic suicide.

The class of Tory politician leading the country have really set the bar high haven't they?

Re: Political post.. @Yescymru
Plaid cymru are actually a very socialist party and I should support them as they are far more socialist than the labour party will ever be
But they want independence which will never work and that Adam price is clueless
I couldn't vote for a nationalist party

Re: Political post.. @Yescymru
The best way to generate jobs in South Wales is to by pass the grid lock on the M4 around Newport. On occasions I have been stuck in traffic as far back as Magor. The solution is in the hands of the Welsh government. There are areas of England that are equally as deprived as South Wales. When I visit Cardiff I am always amazed at how good the infrastructure is compared with South West England for example.

If only there were recent examples of countries gaining independence and introducing their own currency, Wales wouldn't have to worry about being pioneers.

Agree, the previous manifesto was almost anarcho syndicalist.

Agreed currency is often touted as a sticking point in the Indy Scotland debate but really isn’t a major issue. But I would be very surprised if we didn’t follow Scotland with whatever they do, in which the Euro is a possibility.

Ireland looks pretty good to me:

These are genuine questions by the way, I don't actually know what yes cymrus plans are.
Also, why is it yes Cymru and not ydw Cymru?
Build on? How about Wales' major sectors:
Agriculture, Aerospace, Construction, Electronics, Emergency Services, Food, Forestry, Manufacturing, Oil & Gas, Renewable Energy, Services, Textile, Tourism, Transport.
Took 5 seconds to find on Wikipedia...

How would that change after independence is the question.

Actually, the question was what would Wales build on.

Just for reference.
GDP per capita:

Wales $27,459 (2015)
Sudan $4,072 (2019)
Chad $2,442 (2018)

Yes, what. What in the oil and gas sector would be built on. Fracking?
Your sarcastic response doesn’t really address the debate.

Re: Political post.. @Yescymru
Ireland is the poster child for how a small independent nation that speaks English on the periphery of the EU can propser.
"Ireland is currently fourth on the UN's Human Development Index (HDI) ranking, while the UK is at 14th. One component of those HDI rankings is real gross national income (GNI) per capita. ... On this measure, Ireland's income per head at $53,754 (€45,736) is 37 per cent higher than the UK's at $39,116 (€33,279)." David McWilliams (25 Sep 2018)

It wasn't sarcastic. I answered the question posed.

And how much tax receipts is that generating? As Ireland has accused Apple of failing to pay €13bn, under 1% tax paid.
GDP may be high on paper, but means nothing if it’s not doing anything with it
