What if that choice lead to the death of more people than your other choice? Something we don’t know and we never want to see or experience ever.....

Good grief, the UK Government apologists are tying themselves in knots in this thread - I was asked a question and gave a straight answer which has been met by classic whatiffery.
Meanwhile, in this thread which, judging by the person who started it, was started to show that White House backed policies being followed in many states were the way to go, the state mentioned in its title has, once again, had a record number of new cases in the last twenty four hours, as has California, while Texas suffers its third worst day - death rates are not rising yet and, hopefully, they won't, but the one has tended to be about two to three weeks behind the other so far. .
OP posted pretty close to the arrow.

Although this makes grim reading, maybe it's not quite as shocking because there's been a sense of inevitability about for close to two weeks now;-

The handling on a Federal level and some States has just been absolutely idiotic.
A lot of people will also have blood on their hands due to their pig ignorance of refusing to wear a mask and just general selfishness with their behavior.
My Brother in Law lives in Tampa and he says it’s crazy how blasé people have been there.
It’s going to get a lot worse.

Florida and Texas reverse bar reopening as cases surge.

seems to be going well in the states
It’s a nightmare.
Some people that I know not only flat out refuse to wear masks, they proudly brag about it on Social Media as they think it goes against their rights FFS.
One such person works at a local bar and has been advocating reopening for months along with shitty hashtags proclaiming how safe things are there.
Beggars belief!!
not Washington or Florida but i,m reading 46 have been shot this weekend in Chicago with 10 fatalities 3 of which were children
what the hell is going on over there wash dc blue ?
maybe its something to do with BLM protests or just another normal weekend in chicago or maybe one of those areas thats not policed ? jesus christ scary stuff

Probably all of the above.
South Chicago has been a massive problem for years.
Protesters getting more brazen as well as police on egg shells.
Mentioned on here that I’m thinking of getting a gun.
Never wanted one, don’t really want one now, but sadly think we might need one if things carry on.
Surely this one picture sums up the situation in the southern states. One guy who has the sense to wear a face covering is confronted by 3 mouthy rednecks. Note the graphics on the T shirt - maybe the wording should be changed from snowflakes to rednecks don't last long in Texas!
Listen to Ben Carson the U.S. Housing Secretary talking on the Andrew Marr programme yesterday. A black man himself, brought up in a poor family, he had some interesting comments about growing up in Detroit and the situation there today. Presumably similar to Chicago?
Update: The spread of coronavirus infections has taken a "swift and very dangerous turn" in the US state of Texas, Governor Greg Abbott has warned.
"Over just the past few weeks, the daily number of cases have gone from an average of about 2,000, to more than 5,000," Mr Abbott said on Sunday.
Several southern and western states have recorded a surge in cases after lockdown restrictions were eased.

Over twice as many new cases in Florida yesterday as in the whole of the European Union
