I drank in the Cow all my life, from age 16 to the day it closed in all it's recreations (when I was in Cardiff) and I never saw a minute's trouble in there. The Pineapple was less than 500 yards away and the people who drank in one drank in the other. I can recall playing skittles in the Cow and they had run out of lager so between rolls the whole team was walking to the Pineapple for a pint and walking back again for the next roll. At the end the visiting team captain made a speech to himself and when he asked where we were he was told, "up the pub!"
The Cow was alright. I remember them doing a Karaoke night on a monday night, the place was very busy. I went along a few times for comedy value.

It's just my memory that it was on the other side, not arguing with you. :hehe:

For the low, low sum of only £7,000 you could invest in the f**ked-Shameless pub. We should all chip in and run it pro-rata.

I'm sure it goes without saying, but Tony is automatically barred.

My hunch was based on nothing more than the Cow & Snuffers, a pub you said you had drank in since you were 16, being a stone's throw (literally) from the school.

I can remember playing next to the newly constructed building when the cannon arrived on a lowloader to take its place as a feature outside.

It’s not a pub frequented by hard men so I don’t know why it was on that Britains Toughest Pubs programme.
The old landlord Peter Morgan was a very, very hard man though. Rugby player built like the proverbial outhouse. Head like a breeze block.

Never any problem. Dont know how I got away with it. Remember arriving late for a chemistry lesson claiming I was unwell. In reality I was half pissed and stinking of booze.
