You and your ‘mates’ obviously don't like it but thats your problem, not mine. There are far more reasonable posters on this board than people like you.

Facking hell there's a few on here that have forgotten being an adolescent.
You sound like your parents 40 odd years ago.
I thought the Canton made a good noise last night.

We drew that game 3-3. We should have had a penalty at the end. Think it might have been Koumas brought down but the ref bottled it.
The ref who bottled it that night in 2006 was Andy Woolmer.
He is the referee for our game at Bloomfield Rd this weekend v Blackpool.

There must be more but that’s off the top of my head, all songs that mentioned The City or our players, they diluted any of the other type songs of the time. The variation was very good, nothing like that from our lot today and as I say, we’ve tried to introduce new stuff at away games in the recent past but, no, they don’t want to know.
I think there’s a bit of rise tinted specs there Steve.
There was a hell of a lot worse in the 70s and 80s than putting a sick twist on the Jacks egg chasing song.
I’m certainly talking more about the 80s that the 70s and 60s - when all the songs you’ve mentioned above had petered out, but I’m sure similar stuff went on then as the 70s were just as bad as the 80s for what went on.
When we watch ‘It was OK in the 80s my kids can’t believe what we thought was acceptable/ funny then .
The kids in the Canton made a good deal of noise last night - and unlike the vast majority of our fans they turned up.
They are also the only ones who sing. The rest of the ground are quiet and will often look at you a bit weird if you have a go.
Some of the songs are crap, agreed .. although taking the piss out of the English in the Euros is childish but still funny.. as they would certainly have been letting us know has they won.
It’s still preferable to a morgue of a ground which is what it would be without them

What really gets me, now that I'm older, is the fact we were chanting for Morrison (an Englishman) to do the ayatollah and then two seconds after singing "England ****ed it up".
I tend to cringe at most of the chants nowadays

maybe the players just accept it as football " banter " and dont take it too serious, I am sure they must know what to expect when they sign for us

I doubt they're bothered, I'm not sure that's what he was getting at either tbh.

They probably do mate, not sure it helps our cause though. The Barnsley goalkeeper seemed intent on making a point of celebrating in front of the Canton. Could it spur the away players on and take that 1 or 2 % away from our players........................I'm massively overthinking this aren't I? 🤣

I would honestly prefer a morgue of a ground than listen to that disgusting paedophile song, the singers of that should be ejected. It shouldn’t be a case of all noise is good noise. We’ve both mentioned the past, ok, we had some shockers then but they were diluted by a vast array of team and player supporting songs. I’ve named ten off the top of my head, all relevant to their time, Can ten be named now relevant to current players? I’m bemoaning the originality of our youth, it’s pathetic and a poor state of affairs that the majority of the noise made from the Canton is anti this and anti that rather than pro Cardiff City. Song and chants about individual players would lift them you’d think, I’m not sure singing about Swansea slums does. As I’ve mentioned a few of us have ‘trialled’ a few new ditties at away games a few seasons back but ‘England is full of shit’ continued to rule the day. Would be great to have a few bright young fans banding together and producing a few originals, I’m sure we’ve got lads who are capable.

10 English players started (albeit 1 has elected to represent Ireland, and 1 Scotland). 4 on the bench (1 who has elected to represent Wales).

There is some irony about , I can recall the language and behaviours of fans in the old Ninian Park which would shock the Canton Stand fans of today .

For lads who aren't worked up you're sure going on about it.
Bit of chanting. Most would like to see it more pro City but that's all it is.
You need to calm down a bit.

Exactly, but we’re not on about bad language are we, times have moved on. I wouldn’t be keen on bringing a kiddie down the City for the first time and explaining the paedophile song to him. Do we want to go back, or stay, in the times of anti type songs, I say no but do we want to go back and sing pro City & City players songs, I say yes.

Re: Canton Stand Last Night
Love to see more Welsh lads breaking through , I might be wrong it seems were at our most healthiest for some time with Welsh representation In the first team squads , well done the City /Mick.

Agreed, but just because I used to do it (and worse), doesn't mean I shouldn't point out how ridiculous it is as I get older. All part of growing up surely.

Still doesn't make you right..just adds numbers to the English count.. Meaning the fans had one more English player in their team while singing anti England songs :hehe:
Moore is from? Ashley Williams was from? Did they play for Wales? Anyway, that's a other debate, read his ****ing name out loud :hehe:
