its more to do with having to sell off land to pay the IHT bill. this is then taken out of the family and most likely snapped up by a larger farm or corporate farm, rather than staying with a family run farm.
this is definitely throwing the baby out with the bath water and i suspect the law of unintended consequences will rear its head at some point
