Not condoning the idiots that flout the restrictions but really.....
Blue dye in lakes?
An offence to sell Easter eggs?
Dressing up as a bl**dy dog?
NOT ONE policeman wearing a mask when talking to people....
Even the Metropolitan chief Cressida Dick warns some officers are going too far.
It's not only in the Daily Mail.......and neither is the fact that "being developed is a Coronavirus tracking app using personal data for mass surveillance of Britons is branded 'Orwellian and a complex issue"
The issue is that once these powers are in place they are never rescinded.
Yup, don't track pandemics because ZOMG PRIVACY THEY WILL KNOW THAT I KNOCK ONE OUT TO FAKE DANII MINOGUE PORN...
It amazes me how the 'conspiracists' amongst us seem so heavily reliant on Technology, The internet seems to be their bible where they queue up in order to tell everyone that the state is spying on us all and using our detail in order to constrict our daily lifestyle choices. It's a bit like a pheasant holding up a card saying 'shoot me' during the hunting season. If they really believed that the people who are attempting to restrict them are doing so behind closed doors, then wouldn't they also be conspiring against this perceived enemy behind closed doors?
The PRINCIPLE of being tracked in the first place. That concept is totally AGAINST a free nation. You do not have to have the app to get tracked through your phone.
As for 'every six months' ???? Tell me powers that have been enacted and then rescinded in six months time.

If you are a confirmed case, they will do contact tracing which means they will make you write a list of everywhere you've been since they believe you caught the virus. An app will do this quicker, more efficiently, more reliably and more cheaply. It also means they can contact people who may have been near you at any of these times with an alert.
All it is doing is collecting information that you would be obligated to pass on should the worst happen. Until we get a vaccine it's one of the few tools we have that can make a big difference against the virus.
oh you trusting soul...and you believe this would end when this crisis finally ends?
yes I do....history shows that once powers are enacted they are rarely rescinded.
@tellitlikeitis....uninstalling the app makes no difference to being able to track your movements via mobile phone....even if switched OFF!!
Duplicate post.
Because someone questions the veracity of what the State tells us it doesn't mean they're conspiracists - I, and others, just don't swallow every morsel of what we're told and accept it without question. Messageboards have been rife with the indignant amongst us ranting at people going out for quiet walks. Today I was Llandaff Fields. Apart from the fact that I saw 3 pairs of coppers on foot which is a rarity itself, they stopped an elderly couple parking their car so they could have a walk and told them to leave. This couple probably lived in a cramped house or flat with no garden. Their actions wouldn't have harmed anyone -even themselves, yet what they did was wrong. Why ? Because the Government told us it was..
Never been a reader of fan of the Guardian....but many of the articles there make sense to me at the moment...
You do know phone records with the companies show who you have been in contact with? Anytime a phone is used the location can be triangulated anyway....
You seem unable to grasp your tinfoil hat claims are ridiculous... easily laughed at. You also seem to think that no nation should ever use intelligence for positive aims such as security.
