Re: CARDIFF CITY v BLACKBURN ROVERS. Match thread
Front three stats (attempts at goal):
Cardiff City:
Hoilett 2
Murphy 2
Glatzel 1
Blackburn:
Samuel 2
Graham 2
Armstrong 4

Re: CARDIFF CITY v BLACKBURN ROVERS. Match thread
Blackburn have bossed us second half. Our defence has been poor and Murphy and Hoilett under par. Disappointing
-
Re: CARDIFF CITY v BLACKBURN ROVERS. Match thread
Going 2-1 up flattered us.
Game is too open for us, we simply haven't got the personnel to play that way.
They are killing us in midfield and Murphy doesnt look fit enough.
With the defence looking like they have never played together before, I'm not sure where we go from here.
Back to boring basics methinks.

Still. He gets the balls and can actually pass to a team mate. Something your mate struggles with.
Glatzel's pass accuracy for the game is 53% according to whoscored.com. That's the lowest in the entire team (bar Smithies).

It’s always going to be low he’s a striker playing in an offensive position

Blackburns speed and distribution has left our defensive midfield and defenders struggling to stay n the pace.
We’ll be fortunate to get a point here unless Harris produces a rabbit out of his hat

Re: CARDIFF CITY v BLACKBURN ROVERS. Match thread
Maybe it's worth starting Paterson just so we can bring on someone better than him later in the game.

Thoroughly deserved by Blackburn, they were decent in the first half and dominated the second half
-
Re: CARDIFF CITY v BLACKBURN ROVERS. Match thread
Been outplayed tonight, they pressed much better than us and we couldn’t cope

We desperately needed to change things up after an hour, but Harris didn't make any substitutions until they went ahead.

It’s been coming let’s face it. The Wurzels were terrible, we somehow beat Leeds with our only two shots on target (one of which was an absolute gift). We’ve been dreadful to watch for ages now.

They build you up, all part of the Cardiff City experience.

Funny what difference a game makes isn't it. Before today, I looked at our fixtures and thought we would comfortably finish in the play-offs. Now I'm worried about us picking up another point.😀

They were. I thought before they scored their 3rd they were the better team, even if they'd scored 2 goals we could have avoided before.
Harris tried to make the changes to get the points but I think Hoilett was on a little too long to be honest, and I still think we could see Tomlin earlier as well.
Right choice to throw Paterson out on the right as well try and win some long balls. We do seem to automatically go a little longer though when he's on, although chasing the game I can see the idea behind it.
Not to be.
At least the manager is pro active in his changes.

Really!?!
In the first half we were contained by Blackburn in what was a very open game, something we usually try to stop.
In the second half they bossed the game and deserved all 3 points.
Plan C (if there was one) may have worked.
Still hopeful of the playoffs, and even more hopeful of a striker for next season.

I thought the changes were reactive tonight.
