Maybe he is one of the better finishers he has worked with though.
A shame that perhaps other parts of his game are lacking.
I don't think many strikers would excel for us, Moore has at times done well but in other matches looks equally as lost, just that he can actually attack the ball far better and we do put in some decent corners usually.
Today we have had plenty of opportunities for a good ball into the box, 90% of which even Moore would have struggled to get near.

Also Chris Houghton looks suspiciously like Gus Fring

Honestly, what are you expecting "yeah, Rob's shit but I've got to play him"?
Or just say it in private and not set him up for a fall by putting it out there to the media maybe.

Public backings are better than private ones. What chances has he squandered? The issue is not his finishing.

Not when they don't work they're not.

Forest good value for their win

Glatzel gets zero service to be fair
We need a right back and a creative midfielder desperately
Where the **** is Tomlin

Re: FT: NOTTINGHAM FOREST 1 - 0 CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
Dreadful. We never even looked like scoring.

Re: NOTTINGHAM FOREST v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
I think in a league match a draw would be the fair result. But I guess that’s what happens when you’re completely toothless in attack
-
Re: FT: NOTTINGHAM FOREST 1 - 0 CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
Well that was fun.
A shot on target every 30 minutes of football and no goals again.
Harris is gutted no doubt and will say we lost concentration for the goal and could have done better at the other end with our chances. Probably something among the cliches about not being able to fault the effort of his players.
On to Norwich.

60% possession, 15 attempts at goal, and we never looked like scoring.

The game is being streamed live on BT Sport Extra 4 HD
Clubs are now able to name a maximum of nine substitutes of which five may be used.
Teams are permitted a maximum of three opportunities (excluding half time) to make substitutions during normal time, and with the ability to carry over any unused substitutes and make a further substitution should the tie progress to extra time.
All games level after 90 mins will have 30 mins extra time and then if needed penalties.
Another defeat and another directionless, shapeless, dull, tedious and frankly boring performance. And against pretty mediocre opposition.

At least we stopped our run of conceding 2 goals in games.

Without Moore, we look more toothless in attack than any of Slade's sides

He is hardly Robbie Fowler (not when he played for us obvs)
We’ll have to disagree on this one.

Re: FT: NOTTINGHAM FOREST 1 - 0 CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
Plenty of possession but never looked like scoring. The opposition were poor and we were even poorer. I'd like to say something positive but can't. The best I can come up with is that was our first defeat this year.

Re: FT: NOTTINGHAM FOREST 1 - 0 CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
If we’d signed him for £500k then I wouldn’t be so bothered. But £5m was ridiculous

Re: NOTTINGHAM FOREST v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
People go on about the system, the way we play doesn’t suit Glatzel etc, in my opinion £6m strikers at our level should be able to make things happen themselves, turn half chances into goals, battle for the ball, bully defenders etc etc regardless of their team mates. It can’t always be the perfect team goal that’s put on a plate for you to finish, a lot of the time the work, skill and effort has to come from the individual. As I said earlier, Glatzel must be a centre back’s dream, he’s powder puff with zero aggression or battling qualities.

Lee Tomlin getting us into the play-offs last season looks like a superhuman achievement at this point.

Re: FT: NOTTINGHAM FOREST 1 - 0 CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
Quite simply a typical Cardiff performance under this manager....we can now focus on making sure we get over 50 points and then I imagine there will be a clear out in the summer which may include the manager.
Let’s try and get a right back in the transfer window preferably sooner than later

Re: FT: NOTTINGHAM FOREST 1 - 0 CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
We should not forget Forest made 8 changes for this game from their last league game, their 2nd string beat us which adds further concerns over our performance

Does it suit any striker?
When was the last time we put a striker through on goal one on one?

Feel exactly the same.
That will happen though when an average to poor manager is going through the motions and some fans are telling us some plan with a view to passing football is happening.

Agree Glatzel is simply not good enough for the money we paid for him, I just don’t see him scoring more than a handful of goals in any season . I’m not even sure he would be any more effective in leagues 1 or 2 either, he just seems to contribute so little when he plays

Re: FT: NOTTINGHAM FOREST 1 - 0 CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
Waiting with baited breath for the Harris apologists to get on here and tell us what great things they saw today.
They're the first to pipe up and call out the fans who don't rate the manager when Harris manages a win.
Also can somebody tell me what Wilson produced again? One of the best in the league according to some.

Afternoon mate. It's a mixture of that and also Covid football which hasn't excited me one bit. I've watched one 90 minutes since March

It's all a bit weird.
It is hard enough not cracking up in these testing times without City being gash.

This. I didn't even set the alarm and was mildly irritated when I woke up, looked at my watch and saw it was 5 minutes before kick-off. I stayed in bed for another 20 minutes.

Not just Tomlin. There's a lethargy about us, a lack of urgency. I don't think Tomlin would do much for us at the moment. Several times I saw Pack today holding onto the ball with absolutely no movement going on ahead of him. We talk of Pack slowing down our game but he often hasn't got an adventurous or forward pass worth trying.
We don't inject enough pace into our attacks so we don't turn defenders. Why don't we start games on the front foot? We did when we went on our winning run.
There's been talk of late about how patient fans would be if we changed our style and didn't get results. Change of style and way of playing or not, much of that was slow, ponderous shite, regardless of how much possession we had.
