Re: WEST BROMWICH ALBION v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
It’s a good sign that I’m disappointed with only a draw away to West Brom.
Bring on the Wurzels!
-
Re: WEST BROMWICH ALBION v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
I'll take that. Another clean sheet.
Standout performers for me was Ng, O'dowda, Romero and Ojo.
Need a striker though. With a decent one we would have beaten these.

Re: WEST BROMWICH ALBION v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
Brilliant result!
Hell of a shift too, looked exhausting.
Simpson better in the second half. Ng Man of the Match for me. Don't want to hear that he can't play RCB in a back four ever again.

Re: WEST BROMWICH ALBION v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
Some decent performances, Allsop MOTM for me.
Assured, good with his feet and a couple of good saves, especially the one at the death.
Good away draw.

Very good point. I enjoyed that. An absorbing 0-0.

I'm listening to the wba commentary, dreadful, as bad as reading last week

You did. 3 points from 4 games with no wins was not what they were expecting.
We have to sign a striker. This team could get to the playoffs if we can start scoring.

Roger Johnson? Ex-Cardiff, Birmingham, and piss head?

Yes , add in Rinhamoto and Allsop to that list too, they also put in decent performances. Simpson was okay on his debut too
An excellent clean sheet , worked really hard but not one shot on target . A very decent point gained

The CCFC ones were pretty unbiased.
So much so I did wonder at one point whether they were theirs.

Re: FT: WEST BROMWICH ALBION 0 - 0 CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
Got to be happy with an away point and clean sheet against one of the stronger teams in the league.
On to the next game!

John Donovan used to sit in front of me in the Bob Bank for years and years with his dad and brothers. He's a proper bluebird :ayatollah:

Decent away point. We’re so much easier to watch this season.
The lack of cutting edge is a bit of a concern but early doors so perhaps this will be addressed.
Without getting too carried away this early on I watch us now and think our players look better than theirs.

Gotta say, whilst I was never a doom-monger at the start of the season, I didnt expect us to get results like this tonight. :ayatollah:

Re: FT: WEST BROMWICH ALBION 0 - 0 CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
Decent draw. A nice little run of wins and draws would be good (as long as it's a win on Sunday!).
Hope JC isn't out for too long.

Re: WEST BROMWICH ALBION v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
Good Point
Ng MOTM
Very good performances from Romeo O'Dowda Ojo Wintle Simpson, Rhino and Alsopp
Waters looks the best of our strikers
Colwill or Ralls rather than Sawyers
Its coming along nicely

Difficult to beat and not just because we stick 10 men behind the ball and hoof it as far away from our goal whenever possible, which is nice.

Depending on where you start...yes! Hawthorns is my closest home or away trip. Train on time, home 20 minutes ago. Makes up for all the hours driving to home matches.

Scratch team ? Please explain. Doesn't make sense. Only Kipre was not available.

:facepalm:we had a centreback who hasn’t had a pre season and had not played any games of any kind this season before tonight, O’Dowda had to play left back for virtually the whole game and Ralls is, as they say these days, “undercooked” .

We fielded the best available team from our squad with only Kipre unavailable from last Saturday (not because he was injured) and first team squad members Ralls, who is team captain, with Ojo in for the only other changes, presumably to give Sawyers and Odowda a rest. Odowda came in after a few minutes due to injury but he has played left sided defender on a number of times in the past at this level. That is hardly a ‘scratch team’ is it ? To assist the online definition of ‘scratch team’ is - ‘A scratch team is a team, usually in sport, brought together on a temporary basis, composed of players who normally play for different sides. A game played between two scratch teams may be called a scratch match.’ Thought with all your extensive football knowledge you would have realised all that.

I was thinking more "starting from scratch"....which all team selections have been this season given our recent number of signings. That said....something of a scratch team at the end. No idea what formation we were playing in rhe last 10 minutes as it all got a bit hectic. Good to see us leave one up front when defending a corner. A well-earned point. So close to three.
