He's one of those players Jim. It must be difficult playing out wide, especially when the opposition know that you're coming inside on to your strongest foot. Double up and a player is ****ed. You were right to be critical though.

It is staggering really that it didn't cross anyone’s mind before the game, that Colwill just might be injured as he wasn't in the squad. Instead a number waded in with criticism of his non selection making all kinds of wild accusations and hypotheses. Plus we started the game with only three loan players and one of those was Phillips at centre half where we have no other alternatives. Also expecting Ramsey and Odowda would start after their injuries and two games in 3 days was a bit unrealistic to say the least. Anyway, we won and are now safe, so not too bad, even though some posters appeared to be hoping for a defeat which is very ofd !

I think you're the one hoping for a defeat so you can criticise people who you think want us to lose, which is quite preposterous.

Re: FT: COVENTRY CITY 1 - 2 CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
Fair play that was the best performance for a long time and I didn't see it coming.
Result aside I was still thinking if we concede here the midfield had looked so much better.
Can only eat humble pie and say well done.
A bit of improvement.

We just look so much better without Wintle on the pitch, he’s a squad player at best

A brace of own goals really stands out. You could say it's a Kitching of Distinction. (One for the old indie boys).

Re: FT: COVENTRY CITY 1 - 2 CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
On another note...Ipswich V Southampton 1-2 good game...
Sooo much more exciting than Man City v Arsenal yesterday

Re: COVENTRY CITY v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
Much better, in all honesty that should be the bare minimum really. We've not seen anything like that. I'd be happy if we played like that for 46 games though, Bulut has a big 6 games left. He's got to get us play like that (or better) in at least 4/5 games.

Having just seen the goals from the game, let's hope we haven't used up all of our luck in one game! Two quite extraordinary own goals. The first reminded me a bit of Andy Jordan scoring one for Exeter at Ninian Park, great finish.
More to the point, sounded like we at least deserved something from the game, even with two bits of fortune. That's how we need to play between now and the end of the season.

If they have ambitions of reaching the playoffs Coventry need to plug that defence.

Kitching looked like he was recovering from a night on the tiles.

Apparently he’s in hot water with his manager after that lukewarm performance

He'll probably have been rinsed by his manager.

yeah..it was GRANT though..when he doesnt have time to think like any other player he occasionally scores or does something. Unfortunately he gets time to think in a 1on1 and ..thats where he is lacking..severely.

Kitching will feel he's been fitted up.

Irish I think

Just imagine if they were not under a 3 window transfer embargo and were able to sign a striker……. Playoffs would have been pretty much on point

Bulut's signed quite a few strikers. One of them has scored 10 goals this season, 6 of them for Wednesday. I don't think it is guaranteed we'd be miles better off with a striker. Ugbo is seemingly half decent given he has near enough 1 in 2 for Wednesday in 23rd, and Bulut couldn't get anything out of him.

Re: FT: COVENTRY CITY 1 - 2 CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
Great result today but I'm still so angry about Friday I can't get excited. I didn't watch any of it but if you just look at the history books and see the score as a result of 2 OGs then I'm not feeling it....if you know what I mean.
Glad for all those who made the trip and my mate who sent some clips of the celebrations at the end. I don't even know what fixtures we've got left at CCS but I do hope we see something like the energy they showed today.
