Re: The Transfer Rumour Thread
Given how awful we were I think his goal tally will undoubtedly be looked at very favourably by other clubs.
Yes you would want to see that consistency but I think he will be an easy target and will be attainable to a number of clubs at champ level.
I'd expect offers to start coming in, particularly when clubs get quoted silly money for their other targets.
Whether the offers will be enough for us will be question, I don't imagine he's entirely had time to settle in here yet so I really don't see him personally knocking back any attention.
Massive shame though, seemed a perfect fit for us and we go and get relegated.

Re: The Transfer Rumour Thread
I think Salech would be willing to stay for a year in League 1 if there's a plan to go straight back up, which makes it all the more important to get the new manager in quickly.
If he does want out, though, I wouldn't blame him. One of the few players this season who can look himself in the mirror.

Derby have released Kemar Roofe, I think he’d be worth looking at.

he's played 10 minutes of football in a year and is already 32.

The kind of stats to make our transfer committee purr :ayatollah:

Re: The Transfer Rumour Thread
Salech is a 'specialist' in a team where we bought way to many 'all rounders'
I don't think he's the Messiah, but at least he slots in a team as it stands rather than square pegs in round holes as we got used to.
I would be gutted if we let him go.

whereas if he has 15-20 goals at that level for one or more seasons then he'd probably be valued at 15-20 million.
I'd say from the clubs point of view it would be much better to keep him than accept a £5 or so bid that we might get this summer
Excellent, balanced post, completely agree with you.

We paid £3.2m for Salech, we're not going to sell him for anything that anyone sensible would pay, unless he kicks off.

Spot on
I think that's true of one or two others as well (Robertson comes to mind)

It’s Earth-shattering stuff alright. “There’s interest in Dylan Lawlor.” Wowzers.
Literally anybody, anywhere could write “there’s interest in such and such a player,” and it would be about as newsworthy.
In fact, I’m going to do that now.
There’s interest in Perry Ng from several Championship clubs, a European club and a club in Scotland.
Here’s hoping…

He mentioned there was European interest, as far as I can tell he's never professed to be ITK, and said Lawlor wants to stay

Never heard of them, but, having looked them up, it seems a real possibility (previous Championship regular Bailey Wright plays for them) or I suppose it could be a case of someone putting two and two together to get five.

surely that's far too low a level for him. there would be plenty of championship clubs in for Ng if he was available.
as an aside l. my son asked him after the west brom game whether he was staying and he said he thought he was.

I think there’s a lot of over rating of our players among City fans. I genuinely found it impossible to come up with a Player of the Season nomination because I honestly don’t think anyone played to a consistently good standard for long enough to merit the award.
This time last year or two years ago, I would have agreed about Ng, but, not after the season just ended - he was League One standard.

Sorry, I meant to quote 'Carl Dale's Mole.... "Lion City Sailors are interested in Perry Ng."

Re: The Transfer Rumour Thread
I think a few Championship clubs would take Ng for the right price.
He's had a poor season but easily a Championship standard player.

I think that's true of most fanbases in fairness

I saw a video clip the other day where someone asked a Coventry fan if he could sign any player past or present to improve the Coventry team who would you go for- his answer - Perry Ng of Cardiff.
perhaps he hadn't fully understood the question, but regardless some of our players seem to be rated more highly than other teams fans than by our own.

Probably basing it on Ng's phenomenal season before this one, they saw him being put on Team of the Seasons and said "Yeah, we want him."
He's been utterly woeful this season.

There was a thread on the Championship subreddit asking who was the most impressive opposition player you'd seen play against your team last season. Most of the answers were Borja Sainz or Ben Doak, but quite a lot of fans said Rubin Colwill.
