Hopefully we get a CB in before Rotherham, especially if Daland is going.

Re: FT: CARDIFF CITY 2 - 1 SWINDON TOWN. Match thread
Still unbeaten, 100% home record, all goals scored by Welsh players from our own academy and we are FURIOUS about it :hehe:

The Good the Bad and the Scary. We have it all in equal measure.

Or maybe now we are a total football side we dont need any defenders?
I'd forgotten about Ng. I'd pick him before Daland

Just caught up on the thread about daland going.
Unless we sign someone then with daland off and ng out as mental as it sounds id probably stick with chambers and fish for now.........

Re: FT: CARDIFF CITY 2 - 1 SWINDON TOWN. Match thread
What a thoroughly depressing place this forum has become. Win a game we have lost many times to lower league opposition, even when in the championship, Colwill scores another worldy free kick that the great man Peter Whittingham would be proud of, we played some nice stuff in parts, and yet people still throwing their toys out of the pram.
I swear some would happier if City lost so you can whinge even more. If that’s even possible.

Re: FT: CARDIFF CITY 2 - 1 SWINDON TOWN. Match thread
Good win ultimately. After last season getting any sort of winning consistency can't be easy.
Thought we dominated first half apart from that one opportunity the lad should have scored from.
Second half a bit more iffy but still created at least a couple of good chances to make it more comfortable.
Defensively at times we are weak in the tackle, but I thought we won more of the aerial duels at least.
As said by J R it's the tie we usually lose so we got the job done and onto Rotherham.

Did you see the match? Yes, we won, but we were playing a league two side and we weren't really very good.

What on earth is Chambers playing at on their goal? Ten yards behind the rest of the defense playing two Swindon players onside, slow on the pass and finally misses the tackle and gets totally skinned.
If that was an 18 year old you'd say he needs to shape up quickly, for a player with that much experience and 3 England caps it's unbelievable.

Unless we get a replacement in, Daland, at the very least, deserves a run of a few games to see if he can hack it - either at CB or DM in front of Lawlor and Fish. I would prefer that to watching Chambers self-destruct on a regular basis.

Apart from that, Rubin Colwill might be the best free kick taker in world football and we've won 2 of 3 and are still unbeaten.
Once again little or no service to Robbo or Salech. How the feck are we supposed to win games when we can't get the ball into our two main strikers? All this passing around from one side of the pitch to the side is not good enough, when around the opposition penalty area. It just p*sses me off. Get the ball in the feckin' box to either two strikers and they will score! It's going to be a long ol' season otherwise. We can't rely on Rueben every damn week to score a worldy!

There are some lovely spells off play but I think what fans find so frustrating is the slow and pointless playing around going nowhere at the back - if there was any pace to it I might see the point - and then a similar situation up front where the goalposts seem out of bounds.

No we don’t. City have lost just once at this stage of the competition during the last five years.

Weve gone out of the League Cup in the first two rounds in 9 of the last 10 seasons. 6 of those 9 early rounds exits to teams from a lower divsion. Beaten by the likes of Burton, MK Dons, Bristol Rovers and Northampton.
So I stand by my original comment. Its the sort of game we have lost many times to lower league opposition.
Since reaching the final in 2012 our performance in this cup has been nothing short of pathetic but people want to lose their shit over a game we actually WON and were the better team.
Crack on.

People aren't "losing their shit", whatever that means. They are just pointing out that we aren't very good.

We did well to recover second half after their good spell
Chambers still a worry

Re: FT: CARDIFF CITY 2 - 1 SWINDON TOWN. Match thread
It’s a win, job done.
This place is so negative at times, gotta be said. But when you read comments on insta or X, the fans are optimistic. It’s a funny old game.
Facts are we’re unbeaten and getting used to a new system. Ex Academy players starting/starring and scoring. I think we’ll be fine and we’ll challenge. I thought we saw the game out well after 70 mins yesterday, after a poor 25 mins before that.
I agree NG at centre back could make a big difference. Allows Kpakio to keep his place, and NG got that lower league nous I reckon. He won’t be bullied.

Bollocks. Some people have completely lost their minds. I like Hilts as a poster but if I see one more post about Callum Chambers from him hes going on ignore. He blames him for things that werent even him, they were a different player.

We won last night and played some good football at times. But it wasn't a flawless performance and there were legitimate areas of concern, Chambers was certainly one of them

I'm not going to single anyone out, although it seems Chambers is getting blamed for absolutely everything that goes wrong, and even in the event of him doing something positive, it's not mentioned. He isn't playing well and in my opinion he's cooked, been on the slide for a few years now. People are quicker to jump on a player when they've played at the top of the game and are on a good salary (in all likelihood) We had a certain player who left us to go to Mexico who earned a very good salary, played at the highest level, But didn't show up for us for whatever reason. If he had been English with no connection to the club and country, that player would have been kicked all over the dance floor. I sort of understand it, although i don't think it's fair.

You are right, it is not fair. I have recently joined the ranks of those that knock individuals - chambers and Bagan in particular - I should know better.
I think it is mainly down to a general feeling of frustration with the management of the club that has built up, and continues to build. That shouldn't be directed at individual players, especially the youngsters.

It's alright to knock players in my opinion, as long as it's constructive and there's an attempt to leave the opinion with something positive, however Crumb sized that positive may be, That's how i see it. One thing that happens on here with a block of posters is that they have their favourites and they dig in, There's a certain Criteria that seems popular, understandable, but slightly immature to my eyes, but there we go, we all see it differently. I have always been critical of players when i think it's fair and merited to do so, but i always give positives as well, and try to praise the player in question when they play well or do something good, to me, that reinforces your argument and gives some balance. However poor chambers is (and like i said in another post, i think he's done) calling him shit and insulting him isn't really going to help things. I say all of this, although i was critical of Daland and his running style yesterday, so scrap everything i have said......... :hehe:

Up until half time I thought Chambers was having a good game, then took a phone call, switched off until 61st minute, and he seemed to have blotted his copybook. For me Bagan looked shaky, and he's got a lot of games under his belt..

Chambers should be severely reprimanded for having his phone on the pitch!!!!!

Watch the highlights of the Wrexham v Hull game last night. Two superb headers in injury time from Ollie Palmer to get Wrexham back in the game, both from excellent crosses. This is what Salech needs, not the crab football that we currently play.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aaWncRfW3P0

If Ollie Palmer doesn't make the Wrexham squad I think he'd be ideal backup for Salech
