We'll take it. A great point against a really good team.

Great result from an absolute shite game.
BBM get your troops in order.

Re: STOCKPORT COUNTY v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
First shot on goal other than that deflected effort, wasn't it? What an absurd end to the game. Easiest goal Salech will score in his career.

I think we made them look good mind - still, as you say, a great point.

Re: STOCKPORT COUNTY v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
Interesting comments. We were shite for 75 minutes but the last 15+7, we were the only side going to score. Shows which players should have started the game.
-
Re: STOCKPORT COUNTY v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
A point on the road and possibly the most we’ll learn about ourselves and how we adapt to high pressing opposition from any game this season.
I’ll take that!!
So happy Bagan went back to wind up that supporter who threw the ball away from him a minute before the equaliser! :hehe:
-
Re: STOCKPORT COUNTY v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
Daylight robbery but we kept playing and somehow stayed in the game. Great result in the end
-
Re: STOCKPORT COUNTY v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
Sign of a good side, never give up. Bloody luckily mind :wales:
-
Re: STOCKPORT COUNTY v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
Also good decision to leave Salech on and not sub him for once
-
Re: STOCKPORT COUNTY v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
WTF!! Limbs at the end :hehe:
with the level of brutality Salech had to take with no protection from an appalling ref, it was fitting for him to get the goal.
-
Re: STOCKPORT COUNTY v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
That's twice this season we've been completely outplayed on the road but grabbed a point.
I'm not sure whether this is an encouraging or ominous sign so early in the season.
-
Re: STOCKPORT COUNTY v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
Top of the league and still haven't conceded in open play.
City!!!!

I think it's encouraging, shows we're not letting games spiral away from us. Definitely needed a lot of luck there though, but Stockport are a good side for this level, so I wouldn't have been that upset if we lost honestly.

STILL the only undefeated team in the division. Happy days! 🫣🫡

Re: STOCKPORT COUNTY v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
If I was a Stockport County fan I’d be as sick as a pig.
Easily City’s best move of the whole game that led to the equaliser. Still not sure how to feel after that game.

Re: STOCKPORT COUNTY v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
Great to get a point out of the game.
Think it should the difference when Lawlor came on for Chambers. I know he's the captain but he's been so poor he shouldn't be started. I understand wanting to rest the internationals that went away but it cost us today.
Good to see BBM be brave with his subs as it made a difference the last 15 minutes.
Stockport are a good side and will definitely be up there this season.
The ref was absolutely shocking again. Yes to see a good display from a Ref so far.

Re: STOCKPORT COUNTY v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
Couldn't see that equaliser coming.
Trott MOTM again.

Unless we have problems with suspensions or injuries, NG and Chambers don’t start any league matches for me. I wonder if BBM was hoping for something more positive by playing them for their experience.
I’d like NG to find another club in January to be honest.

On his day he can be a very good player at this level but often too much of a liability. I think he should play second string to Kpakio

Bagan good too but Stockport did create quite a few clear cut chances and with better finishing could have won the game convincingly.
Trott made some key saves to keep us in with a chance of stealing a point, that's why he gets my vote.

Stockport have always looked decent in recent seasons. I'm not so sure about their defence but we really never got players that far up the pitch to find out.

Was outstanding, was in the wrong end today and he was a cut above. Lawlor has to start along side him, or Osho!

Indeed
The disappointing aspect of today is that Chambers and Ng failed to make a positive impact.
We need them to and they should want to own those positions.

They both should start in Tuesdays team, we’re going to need them to be match fit. and clearly they both aren’t

Re: FT: STOCKPORT 1 - 1 CARDIFF. Match thread
How thick is NG to grab their attacker when the cross went a distance above his head. Such a lack of awareness and he’s really not impressed over the last season and half
-
Re: FT: STOCKPORT 1 - 1 CARDIFF. Match thread
It felt like the issue defensively today was in the middle of the pitch in the zone between the defence and midfield. We conceded a lot of space and possession in there. But who cares with the last minute equaliser!

Re: FT: STOCKPORT 1 - 1 CARDIFF. Match thread
Looking at the stats today we lost almost 50% of challenges, which is criminal, I just don’t see the energy in Ng any more,Kpakio offers us so much going forward,we looked unbalanced and one paced today, every time I see Chambers named in central defence,I shake my head, I’ve never seen him have a decent game there and his uncertainty transmits itself to others around him,Fish I thought was excellent today in the centre of an unbalanced back four.
-
Re: FT: STOCKPORT 1 - 1 CARDIFF. Match thread
2 mins of highlights on this page from Sky and the only City highlight was the goal.
absolute robbery. but what a feeling when we scored

You're so right! My optimistic head says its early in the season and BBM is both managing and exploring resources. I think today's match will have given him a much better idea how on how our best selection may settle down for the rest of the season
