I don't dispute it. But is it even true?

But my point is, it's just the guardian being the guardian. They will find a negative in anything, so when he damages relationships abroad they will focus on that. When he appears to get on well w
Ith other nations then they will just go with some random negative speculation.
What bugs me is, as I say, that it's so obvious. It's so obviously driven by giving readers what they want to read to drive up ad revenue.

You mean like The Daily Mail, Express, Fox News, etc. all do?

It does read like you're disputing it.

"I think it's a great gesture from Qatar. Appreciate it very much," Trump said. "I would never be one to turn down that kind of an offer. I mean, I could be a stupid person and say, 'No, we don't want a free, very expensive airplane.' But it was, I thought it was a great gesture."
Trump also seems to think he's getting one. There are laws, even the constitution itself, that the president can't accept gifts from foreign leaders. This is such a blatantly over the top the bribe, absolutely no one else would go near accepting it, that it seems like it's Trump reminding everyone that he's completely untouchable and from can do exactly as he likes.

Is it the colour of the bribes that would worry you, or the number and scale?
Although to be fair to you, your acceptance of industrial-scale corruption, influence peddling and constitution breaking is completely in line with the majority in Congress. No shame, no shock. Welcome to MAGA World.

Yes, that's exactly what I mean! It's just people think the guardian et al is different, and it isn't!

Sorry, I meant I don't dispute what Delmbox said. If it is a new plane for him personally, then clearly it's an inappropriate gift. If it's for presidential use, I dunno..
But my wider point remains. Why weren't we talking about the US president meeting with these leaders, and the huge geopolitical outcomes from that? That's the story.

He is the principal beneficiary of the use of a luxury jet and you don't see any story in it? Come off it.
BTW there's a decent bet to be had that all the deals with the US will turn out to benefit him and his entourage.
The story IS industrial scale corruption and cronyism.
You're defending the orange man baby again.

I'm saying there's bigger issues at play to speculation about a jet. Which given there are two wars going on in the middle east at the moment, and the US is the key global player,I would say is a pretty valid thing to say. What were they even talking about in this conference? Any discussion on that?
The reality is some people will just look for a bad story everywhere. I agree entirely if he is accepting a private gift of a multimillion pound jet then it is absolutely wrong.

You're absolutely right James. Let's be serious. Time to check in on what Trump has been saying about being a key global player with the two wars going on in the middle east.

Re: The Donald Trump thread
You're wrong. The deals, foreign policy, domestic policy is all about Tramp. He would offer up anything to anyone to aggrandize himself. That is the story. You're falling for the eye candy.

This is an interesting tale about a gift from a foreign government. In short, the Soviets bugged the Americans for seven years. I would imagine that it would be quite easy nowadays to do this again - but this time it's Air Force One! Any serious government should be getting major alarm bells at this.

Let's hope the intelligence agencies check CCMB cos this is probably something that hadn't been considered!

Let's hope they don't, they might see your posts and go looking for something useful that came out of Trumps conferences to end the wars!

I have done! Daily Express is by far the worst newspaper in the country in terms of balance and bombast. Daily Mail is entertaining enough at times and has a great website. It's biased as hell though, but it has a much greater diversity of opinion that the guardian. The Sun - I don't think anyone takes it seriously politically, but it can be entertaining. Telegraph - decent enough journalism and comprehensive reporting but old school cucumber sandwiches conservatism. Not a patch on the Times which is a great paper.
Talk Radio - I never listen but I generally hate call in shows as it's just listening to clickbait instead of reading it.
GB News. Less balanced than it thinks. Far more balanced than it's detractors think. Pretty open minded in terms of discussing bigger issues in all honesty.
My policy is that the truth nearly always lies somewhere between the Mail and the guardian

Many people with opinions were not elected.
Incredible, isn’t it.
You and me and the Pope amongst them.
One of the differences between you and Springsteen is that you are preaching to a handful of old lags on a football message board; he is talking to a huge crowd at a Manchester arena.
The other difference is that you are consistently wrong and he is right.
But glad we could clear that up.

My band Simple Minds lost a vast part of their audience after the Street Fighting Years Tour, you could argue that they just are a shit band :hehe: I put it down to the politics nonsense on this Album,
This is your Land
Biko (Cover)
Belfast Child
Mandela Day
I used to try and do say 3 gigs a tour, the only gig i did for this album was the one in the National Stadium which was essentially a bore fest of Jim Kerr bleating on about Amnesty international, artists against apartheid, Mandela etc. etc. great causes but of the 30 odd SM gigs I've seen by far the worst, when i go and see a band i just want the music, the song says the message and that's fine, we know Springsteen hates him and again that's fine but he has his social platforms for this stuff, I did see Springsteen at the National Stadium and enjoyed his gig. But there was no preaching from the stage. Ricky Gervais had it spot on when he roasted Hollywood. Get on Stage thank your mum, no preaching and FcUK off. :hehe:

How does a band who wrote this material evolve into DYFAM, Alive and kicking,!!!! This fear of God's is the stand out track for me but when in an upbeat mood I like Room on volume 12

Respect due. I'm starting to see you in a different light all of a sudden :hehe:
Real to Real Cacophony through to New Gold Dream are all mighty fine albums. When the mood suits, I can listen to the next two too.
Re: The Donald Trump thread
Trumps new plane is actually a plane that Qatar are desperate to get rid of.

I agree, and furthermore he should be using public transport (bus/train) whenever he is on government business.
