They did poorly in the first innings for that many batsmen to have got in and none of them made a decent score until the tail. Probably would still hav been drawn, but you never know what a bit if scoreboard pressure could have done
So a tame draw as expected. Sad news that Jack Murphy has had to retire before his career had really gotten going.
Glamorgan lost their first eight wickets for 217 which looked a decent score to me in what would nine times out of ten have been bowler friendly conditions. After that though, nine wickets fell for 959 runs in the last two and a half days - I reckon the only way there would have been a positive result is if both sides were willing to declare in all of the first three innings of the game and sides just don't do that these days.
Still in second place -

Decent fightback.by Glamorgan today after Gloucester scored 168-1 after being put in yesterday. They were all out for 313 with three wickets each for Hogan and Wagg and Glamorgan are 35-0 in reply.
Turning into a fantastic day. Glam 145/1 now. In the Sussex and Durham game eckersley and Bancroft have taken Durham from 90/5 to 248/5. Wins for us and Durham would be huge for our promotion chances
187-4 after losing Root to the last ball of the day - pretty even after the loss of a few late wickets. Hardly surprisingly, the ball swung a lot more today and I think this will have to continue for the next couple of days if we are not to see another draw.
They couldn't could they.................
Game on. 188 to win. Min 49 overs. 2 or 3 solid partnerships..................
c'mon glammy!!!
23-1. Come on..........
71-2. Twitchy bum time but Labs still in 45 not out.............
Lloyd fails again. Very good team this year. In danger of being hamstrung by the coach and his useless captain.
3 down. 103 runs should be doable with 7 wickets in hand, but a few quick ones and it's very much squeaky bum time.
15 to get.
Make that 10!
YYYEEESSSS!!! We are top of the league
Won by 4 wickets and back to the top of the table.
With 7 wanted, Owen Morgan hit his first ball for 6!
Haha. Lovely stuff. I have been watching the highlights on the Glammy site and it really is very enjoyable to see the celebrations when they pick up wickets. A terrific win. Labuschagne is having a special season but we will lose him for the Ashes. By then he may well have got to a 1000 first class runs this season. When did a Glammy player last do that?
Worth remembering the top three go up this season. We now have a real chance.
That's something I don't anyone would have predicted in the four day game going into July. I thought Glamorgan's chance had gone when play was called off early yesterday, but that was a great bowling performance to leave us with a not too demanding target. Home to Worcestershire on Sunday in the first match at Cardiff in ages, let's hope it's a better pitch than the one against Northants in April.
Everywhere I've seen only shows one getting promoted on the table
Glammy have already surpassed their points total from last season with six games to go. Last season they managed just 92 points.
Wonderful stuff. Cracking team spirit and another win. This morning didn't really believe we would win but when glos were 4 down I had an inkling but to see it through was fantastic. At last an overseas player delivering with runs. And how well has hogan bowled in this match. Back to hogan of a few summers ago. Come on glammy!!
"cracking team spirit" is exactly my thoughts.
No superstar overseas player. Everyone playing for the team
Totally agree about the pitch. With the form and confidence the team have at present it would be nice to see a result wicket for the next game. Hopefully Durham can finish off Sussex Tomorrow, then carry their performance into their game with Lancashire next week

Surely Marnus qualifies as a superstar! Best batsman in the country so far this season, and that 80 yesterday was massive in winning us the game. But very true about the whole team playing well, we've had a lot of players putting their hands up when needed this year. Cullen and Douthwaite are the 2 massive surprises for me, they've been fantastic. Would be great to stay top for the rest of the year
