Re: The Queen.....will matches be postponed
Don't bet against it. The racing league got cancelled tonight after 2 races.
The irony is that if it was any other human being, the world would carry on as normal.

The irony being that she's ultimately just like the rest of us, just another human being.
Unless you're David Icke and think she's a lizard :hehe:

I don’t think we will have any League games until October. I reckon our next three League games will be cancelled.

Let's say you're right. What possible benefit to anyone, anywhere, would there be if that happened? Indeed, what possible benefit to anyone, anywhere, would there be if any kind of sport or entertainment was cancelled because of this?
I'm getting annoyed by this already and it hasn't happened yet.

If the game is postponed, you could always crack open a bottle and have a listen to this at 3pm on Saturday instead .. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IYqCIa4zGYc

Oh totally agree. Looks like I will be spending the next few weeks constantly watching Netflix.

Agreed, no benefit, just stupid. I reckon Pearcey might not be too far wrong though.
It's going to feel like the jack's have won the FA cup and ruin the next month sports-wise for all of us.

I will avoid television for the next two weeks. Just two minutes of Nicholas Witchell today was two minutes too much.

It is really, surely people can still go out and if there’s a show of respect at their event so be it. Cancelling things is so unfair, there’s a financial struggle going on and things like food, travel etc has already been sorted out for this weekend yet it may all go to waste.

They assume everyone needs to mourn - personally I work hard all week and will be mourning the football being off if that's what they decide not some 90 year old I've never met

It will be genuinely funny if Saturday's games go ahead, but tomorrow's don't.
An official EFL statement reads:
Following the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, Saturday's EFL fixtures will be played as scheduled. Players and officials will wear black armbands as a mark of respect and there will be a minute's silence before kick-off. However, the matches between Burnley and Norwich, and Tranmere and Stockport scheduled for Friday night have been postponed in line with official mourning guidance, as Her Majesty hated Burnley and she couldn't stand Stockport either.
