Re: CARDIFF CITY v COVENTRY CITY. Match thread
Turns out leaving knackered players on leads to them scoring...

Re: CARDIFF CITY v COVENTRY CITY. Match thread
It's been coming for 20 minutes

Re: CARDIFF CITY v COVENTRY CITY. Match thread
Still can't believe he brought Bacuna on for Murphy not Vaulks
-
Re: CARDIFF CITY v COVENTRY CITY. Match thread
why cant they see a sub is needed
-
Re: CARDIFF CITY v COVENTRY CITY. Match thread
Why are we keeping Kieffer on
Risking injury to most important player and he’s knackered

I never get this, why would Warnock and Harris stifle a player so he’s worse? I get that it happens but I just find it really odd

Re: CARDIFF CITY v COVENTRY CITY. Match thread
Desperate need for fresh legs, make a sub ffs

Agree that was a strange one. The way Murphy is feeling he could run about til midnight.

Re: CARDIFF CITY v COVENTRY CITY. Match thread
Good game. Coventry are not a bad little team. Fantastic to see the players celebrate with Murphy after his goal.
-
Re: FT: CARDIFF CITY 3 - 1 COVENTRY CITY. Match thread
I'm still not convinced by our three centre-backs.
-
Re: CARDIFF CITY v COVENTRY CITY. Match thread
Moore was clearly knackered after 75 minutes. What was the point of leaving him on the pitch? We don't have another striker who can start in his place, so we need to rest him whenever we can.

Re: FT: CARDIFF CITY 3 - 1 COVENTRY CITY. Match thread
Next 4 games involve clubs that are quite close to City in terms of points, (Luton, Preston, Bournemouth and Middlesborough) so a good run now would be very useful!

Perhaps something to do with the fact that Vaulks was one of the best players on the pitch and Murphy could hardly stand up at the end !!

We've got 5 subs. It's really odd, minor complaint though. Cracking performance overall, Moore is different class.

Vaulks was clearly knackered, Bacuna was a fairly obvious replacement in midfield and bring on Watters/Colwill/Harris for Murphy
Its a tough season, we need to rest players when we can

Re: FT: CARDIFF CITY 3 - 1 COVENTRY CITY. Match thread
We've got limited football ability in two main areas - defence and midfield. Our defence however does exactly what it says on the tin, and in Moore with occasional support from Wilson/Ojo/Murphy, we have a real threat upfront.
McCarthy is doing exactly what everyone hoped he would do, and that is get the best out of this squad. I'd love us to have the midfield mobility that [relegation-threatened] Coventry displayed. but it's all about what happens at either end of the pitch. Next season is another time..

Harris won a number of games back-to-back but overplayed Moore who then, unsurprisingly, got injured and suddenly we're a shadow of what we had been during that winning spell. If MM doesn't rest Moore midweek he's made the same mistake whether we look better under his watch or not.
Positives today:
- Moore, Murphy and Wilson linked up nicely
- Vaulks, Nelson and NG too
- 3 goals, 3 points, happy days
Negatives:
- Squad management.

Re: FT: CARDIFF CITY 3 - 1 COVENTRY CITY. Match thread
But Bacuna was the only experienced sub we had. We had so many out through injury so I don’t see how the squad could have been better managed today.

Plenty of games to come where I'm sure they'll get their chance.
Is that your impersonation of every City manager since Ole?

Re: FT: CARDIFF CITY 3 - 1 COVENTRY CITY. Match thread
You are in the mix now. No doubt about it. In Moore, Wilson and Ojo you have real threats.Getting a bit nervous about our position in the top six. We were poor today.
