Bear in mind the insane amount of players who are right up there as the worlds best during that time.
No point going in to it actually, I have a banging headache already.
Lay off the hooch then

Not constantly but he was the best throughout that period, and certainly for the longest period of time.
I'm interested in your point, I don't think anyone says he's the best ever but to say he's overrated is a bit odd. He'd walk into every side in the world, now and in the past, so he's right up there in terms of class. Also, few players make it look as easy as Zidane, he could walk past people and they'd have no idea what was going on.

At least someone has the sense to understand where I'm coming from.

You're saying he's overrated though which he isn't in the slightest. It's like KenM trying to talk about football with you.

Re: The most overrated footballers of all time
I'll give you a controversial one, Sergio Ramos. Great at scoring last minute goals but not so great at defending in my opinion.
-
Re: The most overrated footballers of all time
Most overrated players.
Rooney ( for the last several years)
Ross Barkley
Joe Hart

Re: The most overrated footballers of all time
Dear god. If you can't see that zidane and pirlo are two of the greatest midfielders of all time then you're not really grasping football.
And the 'useless trick' in that clip creates about 5-10 yards of space in the opponents half!

Does anyone actually rate Rooney or Hart anymore?

I think he's had a fair bit of protection this year. I think Modric is solid and Casemiro has been a great anchor.
He goes wandering far too often and i think he is rash and gets caught out of position

Re: The most overrated footballers of all time
I'd go with Beckham. Real hard worker with fantastic technique but for how popular he was, he wasn't that great an all round player.

Lord Kenwynne?

Re: The most overrated footballers of all time
Revell, pub footballer at best.
-
Re: The most overrated footballers of all time
Ross Barkley, but I think he hasn't reached his potential because he wasn't coached well by Martinez rather than being average.
Jack Rodwell was supposed to be the next big thing at one point.

Re: The most overrated footballers of all time
Jack Wilshere?
currently Dele Ali?
Maybe not of all time, but certainly the last few years
-
Re: The most overrated footballers of all time
Thomas Ince
Jon Parkin - everyone says he is better than Ronaldo, but that is just not true (any more)
Dimi

How can you say Dele Ali? Have you not watched him?
He's still so young too!

I've seen him throw himself to the ground on a few occasions, fail to control himself when a few tough tackles have gone in on him.
just dont particularly rate him, Son was far more influential to Spurs last season than Ali, to my mind anyway.

Re: The most overrated footballers of all time
I would have to say Zidane is up there with the best ever.
As for my input, unpopular choice but Super Kev
-
Re: The most overrated footballers of all time

Re: The most overrated footballers of all time
Individually, I wouldn't include either of these, but when Steven Gerrard and Frank Lampard played in the same central midfield for England they were cack - they were two of the biggest reasons why all of that talk about England's "Golden Generation" for the 2006 World Cup turned out to be such a joke.

Well you're wrong, I've watched him loads and he Would walk into any team in the league.
