Thought it was a great entertaining game of football…well done Wales (unlucky)

Re: FT: WALES 0 - 1 POLAND. Match thread
We are certainly going to have to improve our crossing and finishing when we go to the World Cup but hey this is a golden period and we are going to the finals so let’s look forward. We are in a group where we have a real chance of getting through but Page needs to look at certain players. James is the biggest issue. Maybe bring Harry Wilson in if fit and keep Johnson in the side.

Re: WALES v POLAND. Match thread

I can’t see us getting those key players fit for the WC. That’s the worrying thing

Wales won’t win a single game in the World Cup.

I hope our injured players are back for the WC. Really misses Davies, Ampadu, Ramsey and Wilson amongst others.

Frustrating game overall (and ref). Luck wasn’t in and didn’t deserve it, felt like we deserved more away to them with our second string.
Feel it’s been a positive campaign considering the make shift nature of the teams at times. Not been embarrassed at any point and have been competitive in the games. Been a learning curve no doubt. Has gotten me in the mood for the World Cup which, if I’m being honest, hasn’t been the case even when we clinched qualifying against Ukraine.
Have to agree with this.
We have pushed some top top teams in trying circumstances.
There has been plenty of promise.

Wilson and Allen should be fit. Never got much faith in Ramsey these days, not sure if he's just decided to retire himself to be fair.

People say Ampadu is shit until he's not there.

I'm not his biggest fan by any means, and still think he's not the most mature player, but he adds a bit of control and stability.

We had the better of the game and really should scored a few. Szecezny was MoTM imo. He had one of those games where he kept everything out.
Not too worried about relegation. We will still be second seeds for the Euros and will have a decent chance of qualifying.
We need to get players fit. Harry Wilson is back in training and Ben Davies should be back in the next couple of weeks. Ramsey and Allen should be back next month too. It’s probably too late for David Brooks though.

Re: FT: WALES 0 - 1 POLAND. Match thread
Some really negative people on here to be fair
On another day we’d have won that game and it would be all positive.
Loads of the ball, created lots of chances, competed well. We had lots of players out and imo were the better team for the majority of the game. We were undone by a world class assist from a world class player. Some of the Polish time wasting was embarrassing but if we’d done it then it’s great game management
For the Dan James critics yes I agree he needs to be more composed and improve his final ball. But he is on his own in terms of the energy and pressing he brings to the team.
For those saying we don’t owe bale anything / bale brings nothing / drop Bale - I guess this is your first time watching Wales and I guess we have to accept some of this rubbish as a consequence of some successful years for our country.
Together stronger and looking forward to the World Cup

Relegation is the best way to get rid of the deadwood, otherwise Page would be saying he's keeping the old guard cos they kept us up! It's best to rebuild and let the youngsters take us back up again.

100% agreed, it was a tough group, but we gave every game a go
Looking forward to the WC, a bit of a swansong for the euro 16 boys ( and why the hell not ) Hopefully Rambo will be back

Who on Earth says he is shit? Cabango and Rodon were dreadful tonight. Morrell and Levitt are too similar. Bale is either way off it or completely done, at least as a forward. We're missing 5 or 6 of our best players, and the ref definitely didn't help. I think we need Mepham, Ampadu, Allen and Ramsey back, pronto.
As an aside, how the hell did Morison not play Colwill more often? It is mental.

Football is a cruel game where every player is at the mercy of the managers goodwill. They all have their friends and their favourites.

Re: FT: WALES 0 - 1 POLAND. Match thread
Jesus there's some negativity here. Just got back, yes it was a frustrating night - Poland were absolute shithouses, more streetwise, experts at timewasting and roughhousing and the ref let them get away with it. On another day we could have scored a couple of goals but that wasn't a terrible display from an under strength team.
Bale was way off it and it's difficult to see that changing going forward, still got moments in him though.
Johnson just oozes star quality, you felt that he was most likely to do something of quality
For all his faults Daniel James 2nd half showed why he gets picked, he was our main attacking outlet and he would have been past their defenders more if it wasn't for some blatant fouls that the ref ignored or missed
Neco had a fairly poor first half but played very well second half
Rubin looked really good when he came on, hopefully Hudson was watching.
Hard to say how we'll do at the World Cup, we've got it in us to get 4 points from that group but also I could see us not getting any
