We need reinforcements, a win is a win, but it looks laboured to me, not enough created from open play even though the plan seems to be to pull the opposition out and then cut a pass into someone. Thing is, Swindon didn't really want to get involved and decided to sit in, which sort of ****ed it up a bit :hehe: If Swindon had possessed a little more quality then they would have made us pay during the 2nd half, on the break, although if we'd have possessed a bit more quality then we would have won that game comfortably. Holloway changed it slightly during the 2nd half and it caused us problems, apart from their goal, Swindon didn't have that little bit extra. Early days, but i really don't know what to think.

Chambers in midfield will solve a lot of our problems
Really? He'd be an even bigger liability the way our manager plays.

I am concerned. Kpakio and Bagan were still pushing on like mad when we were getting ran ragged. We've scored 1 goal from open play in 3 games, I've genuinely no idea who plays centre half as they're all terrible and we don't do enough going forwards. Apart from that, Rubin Colwill might be the best free kick taker in world football and we've won 2 of 3 and are still unbeaten.

What concerns me is that BBM might be one of these young disciple coaches. I used to be all over then up until a couple of years ago, but not anymore. I do think that he'll do a decent job, but it comes falling down when players are expected to do things that they just can't do or we go up a level. Maybe i'm being unfair, and i don't want to be just yet. Like you said, we're unbeaten, although i just can't get into it.

If BBM plays Chambers again we've got problems as we can all see he's a liability

If plan A doesn't work, do plan A better Russell Martin said. I hope BBM is more adaptable but I'm yet to see it

Russ and BBM are big mates. You know that when it comes off it will look fantastic.

Who would you play instead of Chambers?
Daland is awful, maybe Bagan but the who would play full back?

Re: FT: CARDIFF CITY 2 - 1 SWINDON TOWN. Match thread
Chambers is one of those players where the fans are almost unanimous in viewing him as a defensive liability, which he has been since he came to the club but the manager doesn’t hesitate to pick him first choice centre back,I would really love to hear his rationale behind this, certainly baffles me.

Re: CARDIFF CITY v SWINDON TOWN. Match thread
Still early of course but my concerns aren't really about tactics or Pep ideologies. Are some of them lacking in imagination or unsure of themselves or just not that bright? Maybe it'll click soon and with more games they'll wise up.

Ideally someone new but Daland over Chambers every day

Ng has played centre half? He can defend and foul a bit so id say him when hes back. Until then daland.
Next to him? Ive no idea. Everyone likes fish but hes not very good either is he?
Or maybe now we are a total football side we dont need any defenders?

Re: FT: CARDIFF CITY 2 - 1 SWINDON TOWN. Match thread
Glad we got the 2nd goal just before half time as we looked laboured in the 2nd half. Shaky at the back to say the least. A decent watch though.
Very odd thing on the way home though - driving across Western Ave into Llandaff, the Crawley Town FC bus was at the lights going eastbound along Western Ave. Either the motorway is closed and they were diverted, or the players wanted to see a nice city after spending the day in Swansea.

You would put Bagan at CB? That would be a disaster. Have you seen how poor he is in the air?

Re: FT: CARDIFF CITY 2 - 1 SWINDON TOWN. Match thread
We are so lightweight at the back, when ever the ball bounces in our half it puts the fear of god into me, the back four get bullied off the ball too easily. It wouldn't be so bad if Chambers could pass the ball.
-
Re: FT: CARDIFF CITY 2 - 1 SWINDON TOWN. Match thread
Decent workout, but as others say, we are fragile at the back and very susceptible to the counter.
Players needed ASAP.
-
Re: FT: CARDIFF CITY 2 - 1 SWINDON TOWN. Match thread
In this league if any centre back recruit is under 6ft 2 so we can't quickly stop the suss that we are weak on the long ball then it is going to be a long season. Skillful second ball midfielders will get us up the pitch but only if we are on the 30-40 yard line not the 20!

Yep unbeaten etc etc
However i agree he seems to be one of those managers who will play the same way whoever the players are.
Small point but i cant get behind allowing the players to pick the captain either! Reminds me of when bobby gould did it and the welsh players chose vinnie jones as a pisstake. At least this squad must have a sense of humour picking chambers!

Re: FT: CARDIFF CITY 2 - 1 SWINDON TOWN. Match thread
Hopefully we get a CB in before Rotherham, especially if Daland is going.
-
Re: FT: CARDIFF CITY 2 - 1 SWINDON TOWN. Match thread
Still unbeaten, 100% home record, all goals scored by Welsh players from our own academy and we are FURIOUS about it :hehe:

Re: FT: CARDIFF CITY 2 - 1 SWINDON TOWN. Match thread
The Good the Bad and the Scary. We have it all in equal measure.

I'd forgotten about Ng. I'd pick him before Daland

Just caught up on the thread about daland going.
Unless we sign someone then with daland off and ng out as mental as it sounds id probably stick with chambers and fish for now.........
