Re: The Donald Trump thread
The aftermath of a terrorist atrocity and the President of the US is tweeting:
- Do you notice we are not having a gun debate right now? That's because they used knives and a truck!
- At least 7 dead and 48 wounded in terror attack and Mayor of London says there is "no reason to be alarmed!"
Just the kind of measured response we expect from the world's most powerful statesman, who (lest we forget) was curtseying to the Saudis only a week ago.

Trump has access to intelligence that we don't, maybe what he is saying has a double meaning?

If that's true, and you'll be lucky to find anyone who believes for a second that it is, do you think this is the correct way for him to deal with intelligence (that he has somehow got from another country's agency within hours of the event)?

There is a definite hint of him alluding to something else IMO. Trump is a "Truther" and a "Birther" right, so that's why I am wondering if there isn't a double meaning to what he is saying, otherwise his choice of words don't make much sense given the current circumstances.

Re: The Donald Trump thread
Your gullibility when it comes to Trump is extraordinary :hehe: Oh yeah maybe it's something really clever that only some people understand, like covfefe was :hehe: Fookin hell....
A few hours after people died in the streets, he's taking the mayor's words out of context in order to stoke up fears to get his travel ban passed. If you can't see this, then I don't know what to think of you
What the mayor actually said was:
"My message to Londoners and visitors to our great city is to be calm and vigilant. You will see an increased police presence today, including armed officers and uniformed officers. There is no reason to be alarmed by this."

Re: The Donald Trump thread
I don't know what Trump is up to, but he seems to have got those multiple shooting events under contol that were happening on a regular basis in the run up to the last election.

Orlando was the biggest single shooting the US has ever known, so I'm certainly glad that it hasn't been repeated. What part would you say Trump has played in preventing a large scale attack while still allowing the smaller ones to continue?

It's just an observation that these full-scale 24/7 media events don't seem to be happening like they used to. I don't know the reason why that is happening, maybe Trump is a step or two ahead?

'don't seem to be happening',it's pretty clear you're looking for something that's not there. Trump has been in charge for 5 months. If you look at the list of shootings where 10 or more people died from the past decade you have:
Orlando 2016
San Bernardino 2015
Washington Navy Yard 2013
Sandy Hook 2012
American Civic, NY 2009
Fort Hood, Texas 2009
Virgina Tech 2007
A step or two ahead, yeah it must be his charisma because there's no evidence of anything else.
It's about time you thanked me for indulging you in your nonsense because no one else does. I'm doing you a favour here

There were loads of smaller events that got the full media treatment too.

The Clintons and Comey have a very interesting backstory, you could even say their histories are intertwined. I see this as the latest move in the 'remove Trump at all costs' narrative, so I will be reserving judgement until something positive happens one way or another.
BTW Judicial Watch are in the real world and doing very good work by holding those in power to account

Re: The Donald Trump thread
It's reported that the Syrian government for the first time retaliated against the Yanks today. https://www.reuters.com/article/us-m...-idUSKBN18Z2CP
They, the US, keep bombing Assad's forces and his allies inside Syria when they have no business or legal authority to. If we had anything resembling a free media there would be a debate whether Trump, as commander-in-chief of US armed forces, should be prosecuted for war crimes.
Meanwhile, North Korea tested several missiles yesterday... and who can blame them for wanting to be able to defend themselves when US forces are parked on their border to the south and have their menacing aircraft carrier groups nearby.

The battle with the deep state continues, they have gatekeepers everywhere. I don't think Trump himself even realised how entrenched they are.

I know, the hoops you have to jump through to simply ban muslims from coming into the country, it's just red tape bureaucracy gone mad.

All kinds of pom-poms are welcome, but I don't see the need for any myself.

Yes, it's quite revealing how the system is set up isn't it.

Who would have thought the president can't do absolutely anything he wants at the drop of a hat, it's floored me - and floored you, I can tell.

Re: The Donald Trump thread
US forces have so far bombed in Somalia and Syria since Trump's inauguration without the permission of the governments of those countries or via UN resolutions. How come those wearing uniforms of armed services of any country are never described as terrorists? It's been the same throughout history; whatever they do, however illegal and murderous they're never tagged with the T word.

Is it any surprise given the unprecented media onslaught that started a year before the election took place.

Talk about defending the indefensible
