I should say on the doc - you really should see "Man in the Moon" before this doc if you haven't already. I know Carrey is a bit of a love him / hate him actor but I think it's the part he ever got.
Good to hear you enjoyed Sorcerer  It took me years too as it didn't get a release over here and obsure dvd imports were north of fifty quid for years.
I thought Hacksaw Ridge was excellent
Saw Star Wars today, not really all that impressed, without wishing to get into spoilers, the pacing was all over the shop and it ended half an hour after it should have
Saw it yesterday, really enjoyed it. Middle film in a trilogy is usually a bit tricky i thought this carried it off well, though i do agree its a bit too long, not sure what i would cut out though.
Yeah its no Empire.
From most reviews I've seen from the general public, the majority who have seen it a second time have enjoyed it more on that viewing,Theres certainly bits that could have been trimmed and tightened up but because of the way it was structured i cant see any actual storyline cuts they could have made, everything had to fit to come together at the films end, which i think it did, just.
Watched shot caller last night definitely recommend
Seen it five times now and it just keeps getting worse and worse. I work at the local cinema before someone says "if it is so bad why do you keep watching it"!! It is at best boring and needs 45 mins trimming off it. There are so many holes in the plot it is unreal. Without any spoilers - what was the whole point of 'that' mission? It produced nothing but dragged the film out.
I think it was just to put the characters in a position of peril at the end of it so the other thing going in the pods has a purpose.
Also as the director has his own trilogy to come that has nothing to do with the Skywalkers then i would bet that the very final scene is a part of that.
Obviously we could be talking about a completely different mission....:xmashehe:
Saw ‘Wonder’ this week. I’m a bit of a softy, but it’s the best feel good film I’ve seen since Silver Linings Playbook. Defy you not to cry
Just seen the new Jumanji.
It was surprisingly enjoyable, would recommend people to see it over Christmas if they’re bored with the kids.
EDIT - Karen Gillan is absolutely gorgeous in it as well.
Autopsy of Jane Doe. Nice and creepy with one particular moment that really made me jump. Well worth a watch if you like horror films
Just given up watching John Wick. What a load of rubbish.
Really didn't like it. Just before going in, I heard people on a podcast rating it higher than Empire Strikes Back, so my expectations were, perhaps, too high.
The pacing was poor, too many jokes, most being Disneyesque and cute, some too corny.
My other issues contain spoilers.
Good movie? Yes. Groundbreaking? No. Not as good as Rogue One. Possibly not as good as The Force Awakens.
Gone Girl is currently on BBC Iplayer, one of my favourite films
I think its time for film 18 now pearcey.
Its been your thread since 16.
