That Huddersfield win isn’t looking too shabby either. They won again tonight and are in the mix themselves.

Glatzel was outstanding when he came on. He was strong, too. Superb. Awful game but two sides that are hard to beat and don't make it easy for each other. What a fantastic win.
Ojo is a good player, quick and works hard but I've never seen anyone run the ball out as much as he does. It is ridiculous how often he does it.

10 injuries and a 3rd choice goalkeeper recalled from loan. You can only piss with the c0ck you've got. Not seen a lot of Stoke this year but think O'Neill has done a great job in turning them around and they've defiantly matured this season as a half decent footballing side on occasions.

3 times in about 2 minutes 🤯
Did well after that mind carried it up the pitch a few times and took the pressure off

Sorry Pedro, NML was the king of running the ball out of play, he'd even try and retrieve the ball when it was a yard into touch :hehe:

It's every game. It's mad! Effortless runner at times though, he just took the ball into space and took loads of pressure off. Must be said, I wasn't really worried at any stage. Losing Brown and Campbell meant that had to lump it to Vokes etc, which played into our hands.

One would argue 4 wins of the spin is title form :hehe:

That goal difference may be so important later.
and when TOBW asked how many points we'd get from the 6 games from Watford I said 14, so I'm happy to have 6 already.

I did wince when the commentator bemoaned Shawcross's injuries. That said. The last couple of times I have been away there the people are really welcoming. Had a proper Oatcake before they gave us a spanking a couple of years ago.
I think we have more in common with their fans than going to say Brentford, Watford or Norwich.

Harris and backroom staff are building up Glatzel into the player I assume we hoped we had signed all those moons ago. If we can do the same with Whyte then our squad is looking a lot stronger and we'd have genuine options off the bench/as rotation.

Absolutely. Both teams were cream crackered and with crowds not there to spur the players on it was very difficult for them to get a second wind. Mozzas goal knocked the stuffing out of them. We won’t see out a game as easy as that all season.

Re: FT: STOKE CITY 1 - 2 CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
We saw the game out superbly , Stoke were gone by then. Campbell going off injured for them and Glatzel coming on for us made a huge difference as of course so did the Smithies penalty save - that seemed to give us the belief we could get something out of the game. Great result on a very difficult night

I wouldn't question Stoke too much though: for the most of the game it looked like they had an extra man in every third of the pitch and would have strolled to victory if penalty had gone it - all with countless first teamers in the stands injured.
Looking at the table tonight, I know it's changing tomorrow, but we have beaten 13th in the league, 12th in the league, 3rd in the league and 6th in the league back-to-back-to-back.
Moore had less service tonight and was also outplayed. He looked knackered from early on but he kept going and Glatzell picked up the baton.

Re: FT: STOKE CITY 1 - 2 CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
Just watched it, they had Powell marking Morrison at both corners. They had Shawcross, Collins, Vokes and Chester on the pitch. That's more than a little bit odd!

That's the Championship. I agree with the change of dynamic. Campbell is a Premier League talent and when Stoke lost his pace we slowly took over, Today wasn't Harry Wilson's game so he was not a great loss. Harris deserves credit for his tactical subs though maybe for the doubters he got lucky!

Me and my lad were buying a pair of new boots so changed web page after the first one, clicked back and he was doing the same run in practically the same spot.
Went to checkout on the boots and came back for the third installment.
I thought my stream was buffering and nearly launched my laptop.

I just read the whole thread, funny how they went from Real Madrid to real shite as it progressed. Funny how the majority of opposition fans don’t give credit to the side that’s beating them, we were crap, shite etc, hard to get a bit of praise for a job well done. It should be realised that to have success in the Championship these are the type of fixtures that bring it.

Coming back to this, our record against the current top 17 in the league is actually pretty good. We lost to Reading when they were absolutely flying and Bristol when deserved a point but, this early into our really difficult month at least, are unbeaten otherwise.
Our record against the current bottom 7 though is pretty awful though. We have played 5 of them and picked up 4 points only.

Re: FT: STOKE CITY 1 - 2 CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
Didn't realise how tight the table is.
We are 9th, 2 points off 6th, only 5 points off top!
Let's do the Jacks now!

If they did. It's ****ing ridiculous, but not his fault. They should be getting on the back of whoever paid that.

That would be some fortnight. 18 points. With a cherry on the top.

Nathan Jones signed him, and they hate Jones more than Vokes, which is saying something!

Last season when we beat Huddersfield 3-0 away was the last time most of the opposition's fans thought we were a good side.
In another thread on here I quoted a little snippet from the Stoke message board which bucked the trend a bit. One of their fans noticed that we had improved a lot since their penalty miss. "Blimey, they are like Brazil now". Very kind of him.

Sounds like it was a game where the subs wot won it. Bit of fortune with the pen, radio commentator said it was very soft so maybe a little bit of justice there. Chuffed for Bobby G to net another, here’s hoping he’s finding some form. Who would have predicted this run reading the tea leaves after the Coventry game.

Re: FT: STOKE CITY 1 - 2 CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
Prior to this game they'd conceded more than anyone else in the top half of the table, and many in the bottom half too. And I think we saw evidence of that for our 2 goals, as soon as we put them under any type of pressure they left us unmarked in the box twice.
The reason they are up where they are is they've scored a lot of goals, and until Campbell and Brown had to go off they had us pinned back due to their pace. I think the Campbell injury changed the game.
