I'll happily take that though, if Lamouchi can get a bit more out of these players, we may not see the doom and gloom we've all been dreading.
Can you just elaborate a little on how we were lucky tonight?

Or we made them worse than us.
Seems to be he wanted to frustrate them and then bring on the others to try and win it, if it was it worked.

Re: FT: BIRMINGHAM CITY 0 - 2 CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
If we can follow that with a home win on Friday night the pressure will certainly be eased. I thought the team looked solid tonight.
Pleased for the team and also for Lamouchi. Much more of this and I think he may have thrown the towel in

I just did. We were lucky they were worse than us. They created little and finished nothing, thankfully.
I felt we were still poor, but thankfully managed a result. I'm chuffed with that, but not going to celebrate just yet, until we're out of the woods

If they were worse and created little, luck hasn’t anything to do with it.

We were poor during the 1st half, two awful sides. Marginally better in the 2nd half and decent for 10-15 minutes in the period we won the game. Without getting too far ahead, things looked a bit better when wickham and robinson came on. Wickham took up better positions that Etete and kaba combined, dropped in well and split defenders. Enouraging.

Perhaps, on the night, we made them look worse then us, they went into the game on a high after two impressive wins, one of those against high flying neighbours and six goals to boot. I’d say, credit where credit’s due, we did a great job on them. Well done both players and manager.

Exactly! No luck about that win.

Awful game, great result. At this stage, I couldn't care less. Well done, City
Wickham and Robinson might work, Kaba and Etete wasn't pretty.
Super tackle from Ralls at the end, let's hope we can kick on now.

No one can dress that up as good but it was a pleasing 3 points. Absolutely vital. It was still dire though.

Back to the good ol days. I’m firmly on the side of win by hook or by crook. Don’t care how, get three points, go home happy

Aye, sometimes those dogged kind of away wins can be great to watch. And good for team spirit.
It was hardly smash and grab either, I thought we deserved it overall. Goal fest to boot.
Far from out of the woods yet of course but finally a bit of encouragement at least.

I thought Mcguiness played really well. How did we let him out on loan.
Kaba worked hard and could’ve scored, he seems to have the right attitude and was right amongst it at full time. Wickham nearly scored straight away and was involved in the second goal. At least we have a few options up front now.
Sawyers worries me, he gave the ball away a lot.
Not pretty but we were certainly the better team and good for 3 points.

Just got back, haven’t read all the pages, but this post sums it up lovely.
At last, every player put a shift in, doesn’t matter if they made mistakes or not, each and every one of them covered their teammates.
A bit of “rub of the green” at last
Sol, getting all the players and staff (including our miserable manager) to come over at the end, was a master stroke

Most sides that win a game are lucky that the opposition was worse than them apart from the rare occasions when the worse team wins. Maybe Birmingham didn’t create or finish anything because defensively we were very good?
Anyone who was expecting us to end our nearly three and a half month run without a win by blowing a team away was deluding themselves- for the second time this season we were better than Birmingham, deserved to win and got the three points. Realistically, I’d say that was as good as we could expect after fourteen matches without a win.

For once I wholly agree with you, he’s an extremely intelligent and thoughtful person, the original statement couldn’t be further from the truth. I think he’d make a DoF

I nearly died last night when I realised we had scored a goal and when I realised we had scored two, I needed sedating!

Not sure why that was a lucky win, thought we were the better of the 2 teams.i have seen enough defeats this season where we have lost and I haven't been impressed with opposition and felt we deservedat least a draw. Hopefully, we follow this up on Friday against Reading.

Only a Cardiff fan could call 2-0 a "goal fest"

This sums up how I saw the game Dennis (well the second half anyway).
There were some promising signs but it is important that we build on this. It is good to have 4 strikers available and playing 2 up front. Switching 2 for another 2 was a good thing to do.
How rubbish were Birmingham though?!
We also seemed to be getting the rub of the green from the ref as well….

Yes, the officials were certainly getting the home fans wound up, but I thought Birmingham were lucky to end the game with eleven on the pitch - that should have been a second yellow for Mejbri for his foul on Rinomhota.

I'd start with the same side apart from Sawyers on Friday night, let's see Colwill in that role with a run of games under his belt.
Great to have options up front for a change!

Really after a good win you want to add Colwill, he doesn’t even make the bench for me at the moment.

Yeah our midfield is a bit of a worry generally. Shout out to Ralls for his goal saving intervention late on.
Any news on Ebou Adams? He’s effectively like a new signing when he’s back fit and could have a big part to play in the run in.

Agreed - it felt like we gave the ball away quite a bit but Birmingham gave it straight back! A better team may well have punished us.
Good point about Ralls - a game changing moment.
