Willock should be more than decent at this level, but he also needs to recapture the form he was showing at QPR a few years ago for that to be the case.
Kanga could be anything.
In my opinion, these signings are among the most interesting the club has made in some time, but there are obviously significant question marks against all of them.

He was saying that with his coaching hat on, allegedly. Futsal and all that. We would never understand.
Mozzer has been very quiet so far this season. Hope he's OK and is just keeping a low profile as he's realised he's backed the wrong horse.

Yes, it would be a shame for anyone to avoid the board because they got an opinion wrong. I get plenty wrong but I still keep popping up.

The important loan market has let us down I think, where was a decent Striker and where was the Philogene or Wilson to open teams up, the two most important positions are Striker and Keeper. The keepers are below the top half Championship and the Strikers are struggling, Davies and Etete may have made a difference but I doubt it.
The bookies were right, so far!

I don't share that opinion.
Our biggest problem for several years has been centre midfield. That helps protect the back 4 and provides support for the front line. I'm of the opinion we could have a top Championship striker and goalkeeper and we'd still be struggling.

Fair enough they are not working well as a team but we have a few decent midfielders, we haven't seen the best of them, and we lack pace but Robertson, Colwill, Ramsey, Ralls, Siopis, Turbull, Rhinomhota, are not our weakest area IMO.
I think a decent Manager could quickly sort them out, and tighten up at the back and we could improve rapidly, Alnwick is not too bad either really.

When was the last time the post match conversation was about 'missed chances' ?? 4, 5 seasons ago ??

There's a lack of balance in the midfield selection from the manager and a severe lack of athleticism that leaves us exposed. Which is mad considering a lot of them are pretty limited technically

Probably. It seems like it. Generally when we've won games last season we've found a way of converting the few chances we've had. I think we created the fewest chances from open play last season.

What happened to the deadball goals, the free kicks and corners have been terrible and caused opposition teams no trouble compared we have some better players, what the hell has gone wrong, I think he must have lost the dressing room I can't see any fight, and players like NG are nowhere near their previous standards.

We were scoring an extraordinary amount of set piece goals per set pieces taken. It was at a level that was never likely to be sustained throughout the season. Opponents started to wise up to what we were doing. Often, our set piece goals weren't delivery ----> finish, but delivery ----> win second ball ----> get to loose ball in the box and score.

Rinomhota was surplus to requirements 9 months ago (and rightly so, cos he’s crap) and now is back in the fold after an 11/10 transfer window.
FWIW I would snap your hands off for 20th

I think the deliveries were a bit better last season, but I also agree a team that scores a lot of set-piece goals is aggressive and has the determination and fight in them to win the second ball. We've lost that fight which makes me think he has lost the dressing room, they look nervous and miserable and confidence is through the floor.

We've scored the first goal once in our last 15 league games. When you think that we have made a few decent starts to games this season, I agree, confidence is shot.

We got the first goal today.......

Re: The bookies have us finishing 20th ?
Have to be odds on today. We are clearly the worst squad in the division. Probably by a distance.

We've now been in front for 0.6% of this season and been behind for 68.9% of the season.

6/5 for relegation now. SkyBet still have Portsmouth and Plymouth below us.
City are now 1,000/1 to with Championship, 150/1 for promotion, 33/1 for a top six finish and 15/2 for a top half finish.

Some thought we were a couple of good signings away from a shot at the playoffs. Such thoughts seemed like absolute lunacy at best at the time and seem even more bizarre now.

Every championship team is a couple of good signings and a solid manager away from the play offs.
Its a tough league but isnt very good.

I don't agree with that. There's a gulf between the top and the bottom that a couple of good signings won't fix.

The likes of leeds and burnley yes.
However to be in with a "shot of the play offs" that means getting to about 12th and winning a couple of games in a row and you in.

Eg likes of swansea derby and oxford 1 win from the play offs. Are their squads that much better than ours as it is? If we added a couple of players like a genuine proven striker, solid centre half etc.... and a recently proven manager do you really think we couldnt rub shoulders with derby oxford or swansea?
-
Re: The bookies have us finishing 20th ?
I think if we managed to get in a new manager very quickly and he's decent and we signed a very good striker and a very good dominant central midfielder then we'd stand a chance of surviving. We are miles away from a play off chasing squad.
To get free agents who are very good though and very quickly is extremely unlikely and the clowns don't see a crisis and are happy to plod along with Riza.

Hopefully yesterdays result will wake them up
It’s not something that can be fixed on the cheap
We can’t afford to have any more left of field choices as head coach, manager or whatever else they want to describe it as.
We need the right appointment with backing in January, otherwise we can kiss goodbye to Championship football

The squad is crap. That's why we are where we are. There's no top 6 players in the entire side. The good ones all have ifs, buts and maybes attached to them.

Several also have the physio's table attached to them.

So when forest were playing like blind men a few seasons back and looked nailed on for relegation but ended up getting promoted .....
How did the harvester of sorrow deal with that 🤔?

Probably an over-simplification, but there's a world of difference between a decent side playing badly and a bad side playing badly..

Forest fans were convinced they were down
Unless we get a decent manager and the players shape up I think most people think we are down too but this I told you so verbals is tedious

They are certainly not playing as a team that's for sure.
It's hard to tell presently they look terrible but they are without a Manager and they hated the last one, we will have a better idea if they pick a decent manager.

Currently 19th :hehe:
