Watching the opposition have 65% possession is not enjoyable for me. The more we have the ball the happier I am.

Hull were in the ascendancy for the lat 30 minutes or so, you are right to (sort of) point that out. They had no quality when it mattered, thankfully

Very relieved about that. Doesn't matter how we won. This win could really get us going up the table.

In his press conference after the game Riza confirmed Alnwick is likely to miss the remainder of the season

No, they were absolutely useless like so many teams in this division.
Quite depressing really but fingers crossed there will be 3 teams even worse than us on the last day of the season.
How I long for watching us give teams a good game. I’m starting to forget what it was like. :-/

Goalies are much of a muchness. Alnwick does my head in with his non urgency which transmits throughout the team.

Agree we could have "looked after" () the ball better when it was backs to the wall stuff after we'd scored, but considering the changes forced upon us, it's difficult to be too critical.
Not pretty but a clean sheet and three points. Sweet!!

Re: FT: CARDIFF CITY 1 - 0 HULL CITY. Match thread
I thought it was just a matter of time before they scored, when they started putting crosses in. We just couldn't keep hold of the ball towards the end and when we had it we gave it away cheaply and were caught out of position. We had a bunch of half chances, that if Robinson had caught cleanly he would have put away. Having said all that, with all the injuries, tired players, Hull's away form and our home form, I was not expecting us to win.

I can’t bear the thought of watching Hovarth standing on his line with the ball at his feet, daring the opposition to block his clearance into the net, for the rest of the season.

Robinson again ole ole etc. Finally, the two of them up top. Also, credit to Fish and Ng. I'd have gladly driven them down the M4 last week, made me look a right tit tonight

Some decent last gasp defensive scrambles but why resort to that type of football for the lion share of the second half.
A better opponent in the final third would have easily taken all 3 points.
Makes me ask the question, where was the game management?
The team keeps a clean sheet, picks up 3 points, leapfrogs the two teams above us, opens up a 6 point gap between them and the relegation places and you question the game management?

3 points towards the magic target of 51 required for the season 👍

Re: FT: CARDIFF CITY 1 - 0 HULL CITY. Match thread
Riza was right when he said we did not keep possession well enough, but I don’t think anyone can say we were lucky to win as Hull were surprisingly powder puff up front when you consider that they went to Sheffield United and won 3-0 and also scored three against Leeds. We had a side a long way short of our strongest eleven and yet we defended far better than we have done all season and were the team that looked more likely to score.

Re: FT: CARDIFF CITY 1 - 0 HULL CITY. Match thread
A big shout has to go to our 2 centre halves last night. Ng was outstanding and Fish at last looked like he could be a good signing with a really good display.
O Dowda as well for me it was between him and Ng for man of the match.
It was really no suprise that we struggled to hold the ball. I thought Chambers started well closing down and putting pressure on Hull but looked a bit of a passenger well before half time and had to be subbed unfortunately Robertson just couldn't get into the game either and 2nd half Rinos had a bit of a mare after a decent showing 1st half.
We could really have done with Ralls last night as an option from the bench again or Ramsey. But both injured. Maybe Colwill or Wintle should have been recalled to give us more options.
Ashford another good game. Bellamy should look at calling him up.
All that matters last night though is 3 points.

I think we'll stay up with nowhere near 51 points.

yeah agree I think Ng MOTM just shaded from O'dowda.
they got nothing out of O'dowda until the last 20 or so minutes when he started to fade a bit, understandably.

I'd be surprised if Ashford doesn't make the next Wales squad

.
Based on last nights performance I think there is a good argument for the NG/Fish combination to continue considering we have struggled this season keeping clean sheets

Be surprised if bigger teams aren't tracking him as well. He's clearly got something and is built for the modern game, good on the ball, excellent work rate at both ends of the field and pacy. And unusually for a Cardiff player over the last 5-6 years decisive in the final third.
