Unbeaten in four and dragging this agony on to the last game. Thanks!
Unbeaten in four yet with each succeeding match relegation looks more likely, six points against four out of form sides with not a great deal to play for isn’t good enough.

Better than losing but are we really going to draw our way to safety? I just don't see it.
Weekend has to be a win, surely.

I feel like I'm in a Clockwork Orange being forced to watch this football as if it's propaganda on how the beautiful game should be played.
I am convinced it is inevitable that Cardiff will go down, and yet there's somehow a glimmer of hope.
Cannot wait for the next installment of Riza, the coaches and the team making a pigs ear of a performance over 90 mins - get the clamps for my eyelids out already!

The second for me was a hallmark of Cardiff's defending this season. A lot of individuals out there and this is why Cardiff find themselves vulnerable to conceding goals due to individual errors. You could point out to O'Dowda leaving his man, Fish man marking whereas Daland pushed up and vacated his space. Everyone doing their own thing. Where's the coaching to promote defending as a unit? The Full Monty rendition of the Arsenal offside trap has more organisation about it

Derby get a point off Burnley, Oxford beat Sheffield United, Luton get a point off Leeds and we just seem to approach games against the top teams as free hits that we are going to lose anyway.

Yep we are 1 game away from zero points in our 8 games against the top 4 sides.
That's ridiculous.

Just don't see where the win is coming from and yet we soldier on
Will Luton's late equaliser leave us facing a deflated Stoke or a hungry one on Saturday? That equaliser will give Luton hope as well against an out of sorts Blackburn

I still want Riza gone tonight.
We were very lucky to draw.

Exactly. Yes the players take responsibility for not just organising themselves etc etc but it really is down to coaching and management.
Eg wolves were conceding 2 a game under o Neill and hardly conceded at all since. Is that because the quality of their players suddenly increased?

Yeah I'm surprised to see people say Luton equalising was good for us?

Re: FT: PRESTON NORTH END 2 - 2 CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
I think it's looking like we have to beat all three of Stoke, Oxford and WBA at home. I can't see Sheffield Utd yielding anything (in both senses of the word) and Norwich might prove a dead rubber

Simple reason why we have struggled this season is the team don't work hard enough. Doesn't matter who plays for us they just stand off and let the opposition pick passes. Teams who play against us are all over us like a rash. It's all down to the manager he thinks tactics alone will win games.
-
Re: FT: PRESTON NORTH END 2 - 2 CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
Would’ve taken a pint before the game. Derby didn’t win at home, Stoke conceded a late equaliser. We go again.
Great cross Robertson.
-
Re: FT: PRESTON NORTH END 2 - 2 CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
Goutas shouldn't be anywhere near the squad for the rest of the season. Preferably Daland as well but beggars can't be choosers and he's probably the slightly less shit out of the two on form. I've come away from that game thinking we are somehow going to survive, we're like a turd you can't flush, much like Stoke.
Derby vs Portsmouth on Saturday is a big big game should Portsmouth lose to Coventry tomorrow.

Fish is 5 yards behind the rest of the back line.
All in all, we can't defend. Riza has to go tonight, and Deboys should follow. Whoever signed these clowns shouldn't ever work in football again, unless its for Swansea City

We’ve equalised in the 94th minute, we should be delighted yet the performance was so poor for so long in that game and even then we almost threw it away again right at the death to a team with nothing to play for!
Certainly that’s the end of Goutas, really surprised Riza brought him back in. We haven’t looked at all comfortable playing 3 centre halves anytime in the season, not helped by that also meaning we surrender midfield. Let’s stick with a back 4 eh Riza!
We need to have someone in midfield who can pass forward- either Turnbull or Robertson should start or possibly both and we need to press more and more as a team.
Robinson needs to be playing from the start if he’s fit enough, he’s our top scorer and we need him in the team
What odds we draw with Stoke and prolong the agony !

I thought that Robertson made a difference when he came on. I can’t understand why he isn’t starting.
Btw, if you want someone to pass the ball forward then Turnbull definitely isn’t the man.

Re: FT: PRESTON NORTH END 2 - 2 CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
I think we need to play a more effective midfield including both Turnbull and Robertson with Chambers.
A choice of Alvez, Ashford or Davies out wide with Salech up top.
Back four of O’Dowda, Bagan, Fish and NG.
As a sidebar….Meite has had his criticism, but his goals could be what keeps us up.

Robinson has to play, what other club in the bottom 3 would intentionally not play their top scorer?

Thankfully I never had a boss like him. Total lack of inspiration, leadership, confidence.

must be a horrible position to be in, knowing you've got this brilliant opportunity, and coming so close to pulling it off but the players keep dropping a bollock

Ok ultimately it is down to the players to pull it off BUT it's down to the manager/head coach to get the players to understand his plans/directions & to believe in him. At the moment I don't think anybody is believing in him. He looks an overburdened man.
-
Re: FT: PRESTON NORTH END 2 - 2 CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
Riza can definitely take the title of tinerkman from Ole Gunnar Solsjkaer because bloody hell he loves to change the team on a whim.
Honestly we didn't deserve anything out of that. The team look bereft of confidence or idea of what we are trying to achieve. I don't think a change of manager would help us but these last run of games are so disheartening. What a crap way to end the season.
Rinhimota is not a right back but we have no one else. I like O Dowda but he shouldn't be left back. Our back 3 are all utterly useless.

Re: FT: PRESTON NORTH END 2 - 2 CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
Wow. That was just an awful performance. I can't believe we got away it. For a long time I thought we had an OK squad, but that there was just something wrong somewhere. But over the last month I have come to realise that our team, squad and manager are just terrible.
The starting 11 today was a joke. The subs improved things, but if we could all see that coming, why couldn't Riza? And I can't believe that lack of leadership on the pitch. Chambers has over 250 PL games under his belt and he's just totally clueless? WTF? The decision-making across the team is ludicrously bad. If we manage to stay up, Riza has to be gone the next day. What a ****ing mess.

Their 2 goals and their other 3 or 4 good attempts were all pretty decent moves, by players who knew exactly where to pass, to move, and to run. We can only dream of a settled side that can put together combinations like that - and we're talking about a VERY mid table team. Almost every time City have the ball at their feet you can almost here the cogs working 'where the hell am I going to play this ball'. And God help you if you're un a run up the wing - you'll look up at the end and find you're on your own..

I get that people are very much under a cloud at the moment, but we've scored quite a few decent goals this season. you only have to look back to the first half against Wednesday to see some very nice attacking plays
Preston have only lost twice at home all season (against Sheffield United and Bristol, they beat Burnley and drew with Leeds), and have a pretty strong defence.

Re: FT: PRESTON NORTH END 2 - 2 CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
The hokey cokey selection of the players game to game is a sure sign of a manager who is at best inept.
in out in out shake them all about

Re: FT: PRESTON NORTH END 2 - 2 CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
I will say this, I've seen a few posts saying we were lucky to draw, and we may well have been. But if we'd have lost that we'd have a load of posts saying gutless, spineless, no fight etc. We've come back from a goal down twice, they deserve credit for that
