Anyone on this forum still in support of Netanyahu?

The liberal Zionist despair from inside Israel is clear. This is the end of the ‘only democracy in the region’ bullshit. Netanyahu is moving fast to complete the transformation from a sort of democracy if you are Israeli and Jewish to a rabid authoritarian state with strong elements of fascism.
There is no longer any attempt to mask the political objective of mass ethnic cleansing and creation of a white/Jewish supremacist Greater Israel (‘from the river to the sea’) with the Palestinians murdered or expelled.
The liberal Zionists are much more concerned about the fate of the remaining 20 odd hostages than the hundreds of Palestinian civilians (including more than 200 children) murdered by the IDF this week alone. But their analysis of Netanyahu’s aims (backed to the hilt by Trump) is still chilling.
Some of the events that created shock a year or even six months ago, now pass as the new normal. Our main broadcast and print media barely bother to report at all.
Ethnic cleansing, apartheid and genocide are openly proclaimed by israeli government ministers and IDF commanders. From the river to the sea white/Jewish supremacy will be achieved as planned. Israel will occupy parts of Lebanon and Syria indefinitely and has eyes on parts of Jordan and the Egyptian Synai.
War crimes are a daily occurrence. Israelis (mostly) don’t care. Western governments and media don’t care. There is atrocity fatigue in the public. The Trump government is giving total unqualified support. Fascists were in the Israeli government from early 2023 - now they are in the leadership of the IDF and executives of state media. Sin Bet and the judiciary are facing purges and Kahanists ( racist and fascist to the core) are being lined up to take control.
But maybe it is not all bleak. Resistance continues and wide sections of the Jewish diaspora have been in the leadership of solidarity actions. The myth of Israel has been blown. Trumpism has been unwrapped and exposed. Enablers like Biden, Starmer, Schulz and Macron have shattered their base and can no longer hide behind hypocritical liberal weasle words, and the majority of the world has condemned them.
But Palestinian kids are still murdered every day and their home is made uninhabitable and then stolen. It is a shit world.

Tom Fletcher, head of the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, said that since 18 March, “Israeli airstrikes in densely populated areas have killed hundreds of children and other civilians”.
“Patients killed in their hospital beds. Ambulances shot at. First responders killed,” he said in a statement.
“If the basic principles of humanitarian law still count, the international community must act while it can to uphold them.”

A nurse, a civil servant and a teacher, among thousands of Palestinians detained without charges, were not informed their relatives had died in Israeli attacks.
(For the Guardian, like the BBC and others, it is still the case that Palestinians 'die' whilst Israelis are 'killed'.)
For six months after it became impossible, Ahmed Wael Dababish still dreamed of a simple reunion: the day he could once again hug his wife, Asma, his two daughters and his young son.
A nurse from Gaza, Dababish last saw his family in the early hours of one night in December 2023, when Israeli troops attacked a school where they had sought shelter.
Soldiers ordered men into the courtyard, then detained many of them, including Dababish. He was held incommunicado for 13 months without charge, trial, access to a lawyer, or any communication with his family. So when an Israeli shell killed Asma, 29, and their youngest daughter, three-year-old Ghina, in August 2024, there was no way to send news to him.
He was released in February under the ceasefire deal after turning 33 in prison, and was briefly overwhelmed when he saw his father and cousins waiting to welcome him home.
“It was amazing to see someone I knew,” he said. The joy at being surrounded by familiar, beloved faces, after a year of hunger, torture and isolation from everyone he knew, lasted until he asked about his wife and children.

Abu Zeid, 48, the headteacher of a primary school funded by the UN agency for Palestinian refugees (Unrwa) in Bureij in central Gaza, was arrested along with dozens of other men when Israeli troops raided the school turned shelter in December 2023. He would never see his family again.
“We had no idea where he was the entire time, we were so afraid for his safety,” said Ali, speaking on Alaa’s behalf, as the UN employee is not authorised to speak to media.
“Waiting for him was very difficult. We were happy but it was mixed with deep sorrow. I didn’t know how to tell him his wife and children had been killed.”
Abu Zeid’s family – Hala, 49, a teacher; Nour, 25, an engineer; Alaa, 22, a dentistry student; Riyad, 20, a science student; Walaa, 15, and Mohammed, 13 – were killed in an airstrike on their house in Bureij overnight on 20 August, eight months after he was abducted.
Ali and his sons tried to rescue their loved ones from the rubble, but there were no survivors: just ripped-up body parts. When morning broke, they recovered more remains and, as is Muslim tradition, buried them the same day.

At least 60 people have died in Israeli custody since October 2023. The headteacher said he was severely beaten on several occasions and his eyesight is now impaired, necessitating surgery. The prison in the Negev desert was overcrowded and often freezing, and prisoners were not allowed to seek medical treatment or wash, leading to outbreaks of scabies and other skin problems.
Abu Zeid was given just enough food to stay alive: he lost 25kg in weight and his gaunt appearance upon release shocked his surviving family.
Interesting documentary on ITV tonight , after the 10pm news
Shows struggle of Palestinians being threatened and intimidated to give up their land by extreme zionist settlers wanting their land to enable more settlers to join them
It's NOT ethnic cleaning though
Nice friendly Israelis, totally innocent
Horrible Arabs
Etc Etc
You should watch this if you can
Mind you the usual suspects on here will be defending the zionist nazis because of what Hitler did
I just checked and the last vaguely supportive posts of Israel’s approach was on 15th of this month. The defenders of Israel who were populating this thread a year and more ago are conspicuous by their absences now - have they changed their minds on the subject or has the penny dropped that, increasingly, they were just making themselves look foolish?
This woman experienced shocking treatment as an occasional visitor
Palestinian people get this sort of thing , and worse , on a regular basis
No wonder hamas and suicide bombers and the awful murders of October 7th happen
Imagine Bristol invading south wales , grabbing more and more land and treating the locals like crap
We would be well up for saying piss right off and fighting back
Just finished watching it.
Just like the Oscar winning 'No Other Land' that was shown on Channel 4 recently, it gives a good insight into the mindset and ideology of the settlers (and police and army) that are ethnically cleansing Palestinians from Palestine. The settlers have the guns, the money, the access, the army and police and state (Ben Gvir and Smotrich prominent at the end) and have almost no restraints on them. The Palestinians have mobile phones and courage and a refusal to be driven away by violence and intimidation.
The main settler Yair does a very good Truthpaste impersonation. The Palestinains are just Arab squatters on land given to his Chosen People by their god three and a half thousand years ago as proven by words in the bible. That justifies the pogroms against them!
It also shows that there is opposition from within Israel - although it is a minority and less prominent than a few decades ago, whilst the Jewish diaspora's opposition to the Israeli regime, settlers and (sometimes) Zionist ideology has grown, especially in the USA.
It fits with the recent settler attack on the Palestinian co-director of 'No Other Land' Hamdan Ballal. He was severely beaten by settlers a week ago. The police arrived. The police arrested the victim Ballal and threw him in gaol overnight. Eventually international outrage helped to get him out. Eventually the Academy of Motion Pictures (the Oscars) produced a statement condemning the attack on Ballal and the Israeli state's actions (after initially refusing to name him). This is normal. This is the reality.

Fifteen Palestinian paramedics and rescue workers, including at least one United Nations employee, were killed by Israeli forces “one by one” and buried in a mass grave eight days ago in southern Gaza, the UN has said.
According to the UN humanitarian affairs office (Ocha), the Palestinian Red Crescent (PRCS) and civil defence workers were on a mission to rescue colleagues who had been shot at earlier in the day, when their clearly marked vehicles came under heavy Israeli fire in Rafah city’s Tel al-Sultan district. A Red Crescent official in Gaza said that there was evidence of at least one person being detained and killed, as the body of one of the dead had been found with his hands tied.
The shootings happened on 23 March, one day into the renewed Israeli offensive in the area close to the Egyptian border. Another Red Crescent worker on the mission is reported missing.
“Seven days ago, civil defence and PRCS ambulances arrived at the scene,” the head of Ocha in Palestine, Jonathan Whittall, said in a video statement. “One by one, [the paramedics and civil defense workers] were hit, they were struck. Their bodies were gathered and buried in this mass grave.
“We’re digging them out in their uniforms, with their gloves on. They were here to save lives. Instead, they ended up in a mass grave,” Whittall said. “These ambulances have been buried in the sand. There’s a UN vehicle here, buried in the sand. A bulldozer – Israeli forces bulldozer – has buried them.”
Philippe Lazzarini, the head of the UN relief agency for Palestinian refugees, Unrwa, said that one of its employees was among the dead found in Rafah.
“The body of our colleague killed in Rafah was retrieved yesterday, together with the aid workers from [the Palestinian Red Crescent] – all of them discarded in shallow graves – a profound violation of human dignity,” Lazzarini wrote in a social media post.

A 17-year-old boy from the West Bank who was held without charge for six months in an Israeli prison died after he collapsed in unclear circumstances, Palestinian officials have said.
According to his family, Walid Ahmad was “a healthy high schooler” at the time of his arrest last September for allegedly throwing stones at Israeli soldiers.
The family believes Walid contracted amoebic dysentery from the poor conditions in the prison, an infection that causes diarrhoea, vomiting and dizziness – and can be fatal if left untreated.

More than 14,000 Palestinians have been detained by the Israeli army in the West Bank since the Hamas attack in Israel in October 2023, according to Palestinian figures. Most of those detained are held in administrative detention, which allows for the pre-emptive arrest of individuals based on undisclosed evidence.

Walid is the 63rd Palestinian prisoner from the West Bank or Gaza to die in Israeli custody since the start of the war and the first Palestinian teenager to die in Israeli detention, according to the Palestinian Authority, which administers parts of the West Bank.
https://www.theguardian.com/world/20...ewitnesses-say
Some of the bodies of 15 Palestinian paramedics and rescue workers, killed by Israeli forces and buried in a mass grave nine days ago in Gaza, were found with their hands or legs tied and had gunshot wounds to the head and chest, according to two eyewitnesses.
The witness accounts add to an accumulating body of evidence pointing to a potentially serious war crime on 23 March, when Palestinian Red Crescent ambulance crews and civil defence rescue workers were sent to the scene of an airstrike in the early hours of the morning in the al-Hashashin district of Rafah, Gaza’s southernmost city.

Israel to expand military operation and seize 'large areas' of Gaza. Was only a matter of time, I suppose.
The Canary often irritates me, but this piece is on the nail:

The United Nations agency for children says that at least 322 children are reported to have been killed since Israel launched a renewed offensive in Gaza two weeks ago.
Unicef said at least 609 other children were reportedly wounded during the same period.
The pro-Israel camp have been very quiet on here as of late. Hmmm...
A survivor from a massacre of Palestinian paramedics and rescue workers in Gaza has said he saw Israeli troops open fire on a succession of Red Crescent ambulances and rescue vehicles and then use a bulldozer to bury the wreckage in a pit.

The depravity of this regime, and the collusion of the USA, UK, Germany etc - continuing to provide arms, money, diplomatic cover and repeating the sick talking points of Netanyahu and his fascist ministers - is unbelievable. Up is down. Right is wrong. The 'victims' are the perpetrators of war crimes, and new born babies are 'terrorists'. I know who the terrorists are.... and they are armed to the teeth and have the full backing of Donald Trump.
Most of the Western media of course are not helping by completely ignoring these atrocities. What’s going on there then, I wonder?
