Quarantine now for airline passenger arrivals.
Surely with Boris saying there will be 200,000 tests they can just test them on arrival. Then quarantine if necessary.

1.8 million views in 10 days plus 1,800 comments qualifies as 'quite a stir' to me.
This is the latest from the BBC:-
UK 'to bring in 14-day quarantine' for air passengers - https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-52594023
Right, in your next post you are going to explain how these two stories are linked. Otherwise, it's another illustration of you being unable to commit to one line of thought. I am, at the moment, unable to work out if you have many lines of thought, or zero.
Organ, do yourself a favour and log off for the day.
Because almost every country who has had exponential death rate then had a lockdown to slow it. The thing you are, unbelievably even now, against.
Don't get me wrong, I'm finding your breakdown really entertaining. I want you to continue, but for your own good it is for the best.
You said that we were all in quarantine, I argued that we aren't as we can still leave our homes and put ourselves at risk.
You have now twisted my words (for the Xth time in recent weeks) to make it sound like I think quarantine doesn't exist... It doesn't exist for us, Organ. The story about flight passesgers being quarantined was also reported after you'd made your original point of us all being in quarantine.
I'll repeat what I said you last night... Go for a walk, go and get some shopping and come back here later to complain about how you're in quarantine.
Completely false. We don't yet know at which stage positive tests may happen, it could happen during the incubation period.
The incubation period is the period between getting infected and getting symptoms. Since the virus can be transmitted before the onset of symptoms, it follows that people can be tested during incubation. The success of these tests is, as yet, to be determined.
on one of the " daily updates " recently they ( one of the governments experts ) said that they do not know when the tests will show a positive but it is likely to be a few days after contact but before showing symptoms
then again, this was just a health specialist being used by the government, you might know more than them
Seoul back into lockdown ( well bars and cafes closing again )
i guess this will be the new norm for a while
It highlights just how stupid it would be to relax the lockdown in the UK now. We have not established a decline in new cases, and deaths are still high.
Interestingly, 40 cases are linked to one night club which was visited by a 29 year old who went on to test positive (South Korea are using massive testing and tracing to monitor the outbreaks). That is not implying that the 29 year old went on to infect 40 people, but it is pinpointing a specific location as a common factor. South Korea's first wave makes ours look like a tsunami.
i did not mean incubation till the person showed symptoms, i quoted Hilts who mentioned tests at the airports, i used a example of coming into contact / being infected at the departure airport and a test at the destination airport ( unless they flew around the world 7 times ) would still be negative, as i said the governments expert said they think it can take a few days from contact and infection till a test would show positive
Where did he divert the food to?
.... but I won't forget.
You actually said
That implied that people would still be negative because of the incubation period, but I am willing to write it off as poor English.
Regardless, no-one knows how long it takes for a test to pick up infection.
Also, even during the closure of the borders, an estimated 15,000 people are arriving into the country daily. How this will be policed when we have even more people arriving will be challenging.
100,000 tests a day. The Government has achieved this target ONCE. And, to get to that stage, they included tests that had not yet happened.
200,000 tests by the end of May is the latest target. That's going to take a lot of creativity, maybe even changing the number system so we go
99998
99999
200000
Or, more likely
96877
96878
200000
Interestingly, the CMO said "Take care interpreting the data, it is difficult to identify trends from this data". I wonder what that means.
no its pointing out a fact that a government expert said that " they think incubation period is a few days ( maybe i should have added till a test would show as positive just to avoid confusion, but due to the example of the airport i felt it wasnt needed ) , so they might have come into contact in the departure airport, if we tested them on arrival they would still be negative " they have said that a test might not show up a positive until a few days have past from contact / infection , thus testing at the airport wouldnt work
but I am willing to write off your misunderstanding of my post due to you being you
