Perhaps you can give us your opinion on the rest of tonight's team, or do you just want to single out the player with the least game time.

It's a loan and we're more or less safe though so not really damaging as we aren't going up or down I suppose so I'm gonna just chill out over it now and not let his Sunday league decision making bother me :hehe:

‘Tired legs after so many games’?! Right…….
So haven’t Huddersfield (and all the other teams in the league for that matter) also played around the same number of games as us?

Spot on. Morison is not the answer.

Agreed. Can hardly blame Bagan. Huddersfield put in 46 crosses this evening, most from their right hand side according to whoscored. No side we've faced in recent times have come anywhere near to putting that number of crosses into our box. 46 crosses blatently shows we had a problem stopping them coming in.

I'm going to do a Morison and single out the player with the least game time. If it's good enough for him, it's good enough for me.

It just feels like a throwback to Warnock that signing. Feels like a last minute panic in the window. He’s no better than Collins. Even though Hugill is strong he can link play, lovely assist tonight.

That is some statistic. Assume at least 10
of them we’re corners but they were often as a result of good wing play.

That’s being polite. He was absolutely garbage on Saturday and even worse tonight. He was funny. It’s not a joke anymore, he’s absolutely awful.
Our only tactics are get it up to Hugill, over the top/in the channel for Davies or wide to Drameh. All this “the style of play has got so much better” is only a tiny bit true and that’s because it couldn’t get worse. Bar Blackpool, we’ve not had more than 40% of the ball in this run. We’ve played two of the worst Championship sides ever, too. We’re better defensively and better set up, but that took 3 months.

This better football thing is like keep saying it often enough and it becomes true. The way he keeps mentioning it in every interview you’d swear we are popping the ball about like Fulham. As you said the bar was set so low it couldn’t fail not to be better but it’s only marginal. Less hoof but it’s not fluid football, creating overloads.
I think Morison has started to go Neil Harris Millwall - ugly and horrible to play against with a bit of tempo- which has yielded some results but it’s not pretty.
Nice goal tonight but we scored nice goals under Colin, Harris and Mick took. For large parts the football is not easy on the eye.

They count corners separately. Huddersfield had 12 of those as well.
Another stat on whoscored.com shows we are the 2nd worst Championship side for blocking crosses.

If Hugill has a bad game, we won’t play at all well. He’s so important because most of our good moves come from him holding the ball up.
If Morison get can results this way, and keep us up (which I think he will, great). I’ve had enough of crap football though and he’s not good enough to get results playing it, as his previous 12 games or so before this run proved. There’s some bloody good players in that side, we should have had an upturn in form.

I wonder if the loan agreement limits the average number of minutes that Doyle can play per week.

No damage done tonight with Posh and Derby losing. You are not going down and won’t come close to going down.

I felt sorry for Hugill and Davies in the first half. Our defensive midfield sat so deep they struggled to do anything. They managed a few breaks and had to stop and hold the ball up for an age as there was absolutely no support.

Out of all the crosses/ corners that went into our box how many did Smithies deal with. Reminds me of Marshall glued to the goal line. Just an observation.

Yes although we were lucky to win last night but an eight point gap is much more comfortable especially as Derby have four away games in their next five. They badly missed Lawrence tonight.

I think that he was probably too busy thinking about his next time wasting tactics.
It really was top grade tonight, and probably contributed to the 9 minutes added on 🤦*♂️

Re: FT: HUDDERSFIELD TOWN 2 - 1 CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
The manager apparently thinks that was the perfect away performance for 80 minutes. It seems he believes time wasting, niggly fouls and inviting pressure from the opposition as being the way to go.
Apart from a brief spell during the first half, there really wasn't much evidence of an improvement in the quality of City's football tonight.
